Or if they chose a different religious path than Christianity would you tell them that they are being lied to by the devil and the only way to heaven is through Jesus? I have been told this in a very roundabout way by my own mother. Is this loving? I don't think so but I am open to all thoughts. Thank you.

What was in Galilee? Why didn't He hang around the tomb until the women came to discover the risen Lord?

A lot of Atheists know about their religion and others but turn them down because they don't belive in them. Is that so hard to belive? I was once a Christian, but I don't belive in God anymore, if God wants me to be a Christian why does he allow me to have my own belifes and religion sepreat from his and the Bible?

I remember about 20 years ago when I first heard that . I had used 'xmas' but stopped then and there cause I didn't want to be associated with removing Christ from Christmas . But then I stumbled upon the following information . Quite interesting and here's just a bit >>"In ancient Christian art χ and χρ are abbreviations for Christ's name.[3] In many manuscripts of the New Testament and icons, X is an abbreviation for Christos, as is XC (the first and last letters in Greek, using the lunate sigma); compare IC for Jesus in Greek. The Oxford English Dictionary documents the use of this abbreviation back to 1551, 50 years before the first English colonists arrived in North America and 60 years before the King James Version of the Bible was completed. At the same time, Xian and Xianity were in frequent use as abbreviations of "Christian" and "Christianity"; and nowadays still are sometimes so used, but much less than "Xmas". Peace !

Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Let your heart be light
Next year all our troubles will be out of sight

Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Make the yuletide gay
Next year all our troubles will be miles away

Once again as in olden days
Happy golden days of yore
Faithful friends who were dear to us
Will be near to us once more

Someday soon we all will be together
If the fates allow
Until then, we'll have to muddle through somehow
So have yourself a merry little Christmas now

if you ask me, I like picking on fundies only here on R&S, but not in real life. seems like you're all obsessed with what Catholics do and spend all your time contemplating on them, here and in real life.

Honestly? I would rather agree with many other people's beleifs and ideas than blindedly agreeing with one religion entirely. It gos against the entire idea Christianity teaches. And if you "pagans" agree with that...you seem more...old Christian than new Pagan.

-would god really send someone to hell? i mean what if there is this little kid who lives in a third world country and he doesn't know god or the ten comandments and he steals some food because he is starving. so would god really send him to hell because he never worshipped and he broke a commandment?

-if there is a god and you went to heaven, what would it be like? i have trouble figuring this one out because everyone has different opinions and you can't make a heaven that will please everyone can you?

-if god knows everything about us, then how come he doesn't do anything to prove that he is there? if he is real then he would know that i am confused about what to believe. how come he doesnt prove that he exists in some way so that we will know what to belive?

i'm having trouble with deciding what to believe because logic kind of tells me that god isn't real. if you can answer even one of these questions, that would be very helpful.

thanks :-)

The Catholic church teaches that Mary was conceived without sin, that by her suffering she contributed to our salvation, that she ascended into Heaven and was appointed our mediatrix. She is also called our life and the gate of Heaven.

None of this is in the bible which is claimed comes from God.

Why can't atheists, muslims, Christians, etc. all coexist peacefully without one or another taking some sort of cheap shot? It's a shame that Christians (as I am) have gotten a bad name because of the hypocrits, racists, bigots, etc. and the same goes for atheists and people of other religions. We are all people, and everyone should be entitled to their own beliefs without there being a huge fall out. I apologize on behalf of the hypocrisy from Christians. I simply was not raised that way, even though I am a Christian and there are specific things that the Bible says. I am not one to judge. God is the only one allowed to do so. Why when the Bible tells you not to judge, do some Christians do it anyway? I think we should all be able to coexist in peace, without constant arguments about religion, evolution, etc etc.

first off im not being biased toward christians here and saying that they are the only religion guilty of this, and im not saying that every christian is guilty of this. BUT there are those of you that look down upon other religions, even though they are equally farfetched as yours. and actually sometimes you look down on other religions and you dont even know anything about them. you will believe that moses parted seas and that a dead man rose, but you wont believe science is possible? or maybe that another being brought us here long ago? im saying why do some christians look down upon religions that are equally farfetched or even less farfetched? for one second you cant say christianity isnt farfetched, cause a man parting a sea, a man rising from the dead, and the many other stories of the bible that i do not know, are farfetched. its like reading a fantasy novel or something. christianity is built on faith, not evidence. so please lets hear your answers.

Why would G-d ask that of Abraham? Especially since that was considered a pagan tradition (child sacrifice). Not too mention Isaac was not Abrahams "only child". Ishmael was born some 10 plus years before.

Having faith is important...but could anyone ever really have that much faith?

I don't have a hatred for anyone, or any group of people, but the injustice of the insurgents in Iraq boils my blood...all the things they've done to the innocent civilians, women and children for their so-called Jihad. I know it says in the Bible to not murder, but it says nothing about engaging in War for a noble and just cause. And it tells of a Roman Centurion(military commander)named Cornelius who was visited by an Angel of God for his Faith(Acts chapter 10 verses 1-46) I wish to purify my soul and resist all the lusts and desires of this pagan world, i believe in a better or worse life after death. I need answers from faithful "born-again" Christians of all branchs of Christ (Catholics, Protestants, Mormons, etc.) and from Fathers, Preachers, Priests, Pastors, etc. Please answer my inquiry, and Lord forgive us all.

Do they believe you can still reach heaven? I'm just wondering because on judgment day Christians believe that the dead return to their bodies, but how can they if their bodies are ashes?
