This is a religious question. How does Christ want us to handle these people? Send them back to "their country" so they can die of dysentary?

Paul Althaus, a Lutheran theologian of renown in Germany, warmly greeted the rise of Hitler. He wrote that, “The Protestant churches have greeted the political turning point as a gift and miracle of God”.. (“Die deutsche Stunde der Kirche,” p.5)

In a speech to Polish Catholics, Hitler declared: “I as a German Catholic, ask only what is permitted to Polish Catholics. To be antisemitic is not to be un-Catholic. The Church used every weapon against the Jews, even the Inquisition. Christ himself was a pioneer in the fight against Judaism.” (ibid, p. 146)

At a Church conference, Hitler affirmed that the Catholic Church has always regarded Jews as evildoers and had banished them into ghettos. He (Hitler) is only doing what the Church had been doing for fifteen hundred years.. (ibid, p. 79)

“I do insist on the certainty that sooner or later – once we hold power – Christianity will be overcome and the German Church established. Yes, the German church, without a Pope, and Luther, if he could be with us, would give us his blessing.” (Adolf Hitler, Hitler’s speeches, edited by Prof. N.H. Baynes [oxford, 1942], pg. 369.)

“If I find a Jew to baptize, I shall lead him to the Elbe bridge, hang a stone around his neck, and push him into the water, baptizing him with the name of Avraham!.. I cannot convert the Jews. Our lord Christ did not succeed in doing so; but I can close their mouths so that there will be nothing for them to do but to lie upon the ground.” – Martin Luther

Consider this statement from Hitler:

“We were convinced that the People needs and requires this faith. We have therefore undertaken the fight against the atheistic movement, and that not merely with a few theoretical declarations: we have stamped it out.”

What exactly does he do?
What does he say?
Don't give me mumbo jumbo - I want to know the actual things the priest does and says to turn the bread and wine into flesh and blood.

Now, tell me where these things are found in scripture, please.

Even though there is a Mountain load of evidence showing he was a Christian and both the Protestant and Catholic Church embraced him as a righteous leader.

Do these same people consider Bin Laden to be a Muslim while millions of Muslims disown HIS fanatical views ?

Why the double standard ?

if you hate science so much and talk down about it, why don't you stay out of hospitals and stop taking medication? If you believe so much that your god will heal you of your illnesses then why do you go to hospitals? Doesn't that go against the meaning of the bible? I thought alchemists and chemists (who are now called doctors and scientists) were doing the work of the devil? So why? Why do you go to hospitals when you don't believe such things as science?

Note: I'm not atheist or theist, I have my own religion but this has been bothering me.

I've spent about a year and a couple months on Y!A, and about 10-11 months of that have been spent in the Religion and Spirituality section. During that time my beliefs have shifted, from an apathetic "everything's ok" agnostic, to being a combative atheist, to being a weak atheist, and now I've made it back full circle again. Name an common religious argument, I've probably seen it 7 times on here. It's gotten to the point for me where I'm no longer learning anything about religions, it's just petty arguments about God, monkeys, and bananas. I realized that R+S had begun to make me callous toward the religious posters. I've given many snide remarks over the course of my R+S, and although I take pride in my quick wit, I am regretful for posting them.

In R+S it's easy to get lost in religious debates, but it's not so easy to see people for who they are. I admit that most of my 360 friends I met through R+S, and most are atheists, but I don't consider them my friends because of

This is for an article I will be writing for a writing class. I won't use any names, just want to get enough feed back to come up with ideas, percentages and create like an advice column. Only mature answers please.

This is a topic that has come up between my grandmother and I a few times. She believes she is psychic and believes in ghosts, demons and etc. She enjoys watching a show called "The Haunting" every weekday. This show is about a family or group of people who have dealt, or are dealing with the paranormal.

I am strongly against such things. I was raised to believe that if you allow evil energy, evil beings and such around you/in your home, it will happen. I will not allow this sort of thing in my life, therefore, it does not occur.

Part 1 to my question: Do you agree with the statement I just made? Why or why not?

Part 2: If you had a family member, friend, neighbor, etc..someone who you associated with regularly who believed this way how do you deal with it?

Remember Deut. 18:22, "If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him." If someone makes a false prophecy, and they have claimed to be a prophet of God, then they are false prophets and are not to be listened to.
Do the Witnesses claim to be the prophet of God? Yes, they do.

In 1972 the Jehovah's Witness Watchtower claimed to be the prophet of God.
IDENTIFYING THE "PROPHET" -- "So does Jehovah have a prophet to help them, to warn them of dangers and to declare things to come? These questions can be answered in the affirmative. Who is this prophet?...This "prophet" was not one man, but was a body of men and women. It was the small group of footstep followers of Jesus Christ, known at that time as International Bible Students. Today they are known as Jehovah's Christian Witnesses..

IF you was in a crowd of men and women and you wanted to get the attention of someone and shouted MAN or WOMAN no one would know who you are talking to exactly, but if you mentioned them by name that person would know you are talking to them!! Right? So to me Lord is a title like Man and Woman, surely then God has a personal name?? Some say Jehovah God. The Lords prayer says let your name be sanctified, or be made known, so he must have a name. what then is Gods name. i need to pray to God useing his personal name...

If Evolution, an observable pheneominum is a deceptive ploy put in by God to throw humans into a state of un-faith, is God then deceptive? Isn't the name of the deceptive 'god' in the bible, Satan? (the "disagreer") If Evolution is God's tool, then can't he still remain God, and not have to, by default, become deceptive/Satan? Who do you worship, God or the deceptive one?

I ask because of the verse below. I feel that physical rituals can lead to error. I realize this verse is talking about someone who has fallen away from God, but if this puts Christ to shame, then communion and worshipping God in this manner may as well.

When partaking of communion, people are seeing and thinking upon Christ's crucifixtion over and over. They partake in this ritual to renew themselves.

Hebrews 6:6-

6 and then fell away, it is impossible to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

What are your thoughts? Do you think that a physical ritual is beneficial?

I know this question may look like in the wrong section, but it's not, because it is adressed to people of this section. Nowhere else people fight so much for "being right" and nowhere else an answer can get as many thumbs down, or as many reports.

So, what do you think when your answer got a lot of thumbs down? Was it a bad answer, or you just touched a sensitive spot?
