I know this question may look like in the wrong section, but it's not, because it is adressed to people of this section. Nowhere else people fight so much for "being right" and nowhere else an answer can get as many thumbs down, or as many reports.
So, what do you think when your answer got a lot of thumbs down? Was it a bad answer, or you just touched a sensitive spot?

there are only a few Y! sections that questions cannot be asked or answered based on "right" and "wrong". you cant go to the physics, science, or homework section and give opinions....but in R&S and politics you can, because there are ONLY opinions in these sections. in these sections thumbs up means someone shares your opinions, thumbs down means they don't, thats all.
oh, and what deke said...sometimes my answer already has a thumbs down before i can even see it post if certain peeps are on, lol.

Usually I am shocked at how many stupid people all answered the same question. No seriously I do wonder that sometimes or realize that am getting thumbs down before not that I am wrong but because people just disagree or are sensitive.

Although seeing other sections - i've seen posts get 155 thumbs up and 77 thumbs down.
Yet to see a post on R&S that actually gets even close to those numbers.

Depending on the question, I think of it as a good thing. The ones that I don't like is where I tell a true story and get thumbs down. I once told a story how my mother died of cancer 10 years ago and I got thumbs down. trolls

well, I noticed when I started to share about my sister being raped by my ex-stepdad and how I used to pray to the christian god because I solely believed he help out since I was catholic at that time and nothing happened and my mom was still married to him and when I prayed to other Gods and she divorced him, I got a lot of thumbs down, was it because when I started praying to other Gods something happened when their loving caring god did nothing?
I'm sorry, but that is a true life experience that happened, when I prayed to other Gods she found out what was going on and divorced him, it is a fact, I don't see why I got so many thumbs down for that.
But in all to answer your question, I guess in most of my answers I touch sensitive spots because I'm an ex-bible person and want to spread the truth about how false it is.

I don't think about it; I just turn my computer screen (CRT, monitor) UPSIDE DOWN and look at all of the sweet Thumbs UP I am gettng ! Whooppee!

When I get a lot of thumbs down it does not bother me. It has nothing to do with the quality of my answers, just that folks disagree with what I am saying. Sometimes it's very good to get lots of thumbs down, sometimes it's not. It depends upon what the question is and what I have answered.

has got me in to TROUBLE all my life!!!!!!!!!!! I find it hard to edit my self in this forum. Yet I have only had one Warning and A fist full of one time contacts who were not what they claimed to be,quit honestly they asked about what would happen if and after I emailed them what would happen. They Blocked me! OH well In maturity, Showed
they DID not attempt to write back and say That was way to Intimate or graphic for me because of age or Morale

They have. They were born and raised and made it all in this little town. From 6 th grade tru my softmore year
in School my mom n stepdad built Custom homes in the area. When I went to school my first day I got picked on the whole 9 yards. When I rode the bus home,YES we were staying with my Grandparents because the house we were building sold and pop[ started another any ways I stayed with my grand parents a lot When I way aa lot younger and home is home. The bus I rode on was the same one that My cousin Brad rode home too. My grandparents property borderd my aunt n uncles. needless to say once evry one found out I was related to the RICH PEOPLE,
Every thing changed.The upper class girls were trowing them selves at me and I did not like it.ON story short
Iwas at my cousins wedding and their were the same girls Just aa little older at the recption I was beyond DRUNK
