Threr are a couple Yahoo groups where atheism is discussed rationally, they aren't hard to find they are among the most active.

About.com has an atheism section with an active message board where fundies are roasted in their own flames and served daily. No --they have a board where you can ask questions of others who are atheists and share similar points of view. Some are former fundies themselves, there are scientists and ordinary people. When I had tons of questions I found plenty of answers there, and plenty more thought provoking questions to help me clear up some of my questions on my own. Not for the faint of heart...but worth a visit.

Delphi forums used to have a couple active atheist boards, some private to keep out fundies, some public. A few places you need good asbestos underwear to handle the flame wars, those could be good fun, especially when a fundie was outgunned and going down in a fireball. I haven't been to delphi forum in years, though.

And if you know what usenet is, Alt.atheism is still active and interesting once you learn how to tune out trolls and usenet k00ks.

This is a very good question. Unfortunately, many Christian fundamentalists have nothing better to do with their day than search out things in the world that offend them so they can do away with them. Perhaps if they would worry about themselves and let the rest of us do the same, we can express our beliefs in peace.

This is the only place I know of where atheists can express themselves without the risk of being physically assualted by outraged believers. Having your account deleted is trivial, compared to being kicked in the gonads or being beaten with a stick. I advise you to set up multiple back-up accounts and don't use your e-mail account for Answers. Don't give up! Being able to safely discuss atheism with your peers is well worth the hassle of dealing with intolerant Fundies.

Practically speaking, an atheist's life in the R&S forum is much safer if one totally refrains from asking questions.

I can't answer for your fears, but if you ask a question with good manners (that is, using reason and polite language and avoid name-calling), and you are deleted, you should appeal. No user can delete you; that is only done by the staff, and only after they review your violations. If you need help, go to the Y!A team's 360 page where there is a link to send a message.

If the Christians can get you to live in fear, then they have already won.

Two accounts killed, and I'm still kickin'!!

bullfighting seems good.....I will go with that........mostly because it is all bull.... Oh well....live and let live, yes? I am an agnostic atheist (I have no knowledge of and no belief in a god and I am not saying this to get responses) and it seems to be no end to what trouble roars its ugly head because people cannot stand to let me be. If I am going to burn in hell because I don't believe in your god then so be it, I am not here to convince you how dumb you are don't try to convince me of how dumb I am. But I digress.....Bullfighting is my answer.

You should be able to anywhere unfortunately there are too many "christians" out there that condemn to hell any people that arent like them. I am proud to say I am not one of them. I am a Christian & stand on what I believe & I respect others for their beliefs also. As long as you know why you believe in it.

On your own forum. Yahoo owns and runs the show, here.

Getting deleted is the risk we all take. This burden doesn't weigh more heavily on any single group.

Don't try as hard, and maybe you can stay under the rader this time.
