We all know that Satan is behind the promotion of the theory of evolution. Apart from the obvious denial of God as the Creator of the universe that the theory makes, why is it so dangerous for people to be deceived by it?

Because it promotes the concept of survival of the fittest which sends a subtle message to people that the poor, the ill, the weak, are not really worthy of life, and that compassion and loving your neighbour and taking care of the less fortunate is antipathetic to success in life.

It is no coincidence that the increase in the disparity between the wealthy resource-gobling capitalist countries and the poorer second and third worlds co-incided with the spread of belief in the Theory of Evolution. The survival of the fittest mentality gave the First World nations an excuse to rob, rape and exploit the poor nations.

Bored you gave a good answer until you suggested that climate change is going to be really bad. You don't know that. The questioner doesn't know that. In fact the last hundred years is pretty much in line with the previous hundred years and isn't out of the norm of the climate in the last 2000 years. CO2 is demonized for political reasons. As a geologist, I am well aware that the climate always changes. Humans have evolved through multiple changes as bored suggested. In 200 thousand years we have had two glacial periods. The way evolution works is that when the environment changes drastically, evolution speeds up until the creature is adapted to the change and then the rate of evolution slows. Darwin was clearly right. The recent climate change hasn't required any adaptation except an explosion of population. If it cools, perhaps that will become a problem.

It's not.

Not knowing the theory of evolution is what is damaging. Look at the Soviet Union when biology was under control of Lysenko (who preferred a discredited mechanism for evolution) or Germany under Hitler (who based his concept of superior race on the bible).

Modern evolutionary theory pretty much removes all justification for racism (and sexism along with homophobia). It also makes it possible to understand the world without needing an imaginary god.

We do not "all know that Satan is behind the promotion of the theory of evolution." In fact, many believe Satan is behind Christianity. God would not create a word that's deceptive. Unless God is deceptive. Satan is deceptive, so God is Satan? .... If Evolution is false, then the world God created (or Satan created) is deceptive.

It's damaging because if you believe in evolution you can not believe in God. They are diametrically opposed to each other. The proof of God is in biblical prophesy. The falseness of evolution is in the fact that scientists can't give even one example of a genetic mutation or an evolutionary process which can be seen to increase the information in the genome. I rest my case your honour.

The theory of evolution is only damaging to the delicate egos of those people who are compelled to think of themselves as "special" and who cannot come to grips with the notion that we are just very fortunate primates.

Yeah. Pretty presumptuous there.

Do you eat corn on the cob or do you pretend it is an abomination created by satan or do you just ignore that it is there at all.

Corn on the cob DID NOT exist when your "so called" god invented the earth. It does now through EVOLUTION!

When someone believes in evolution and that that is how the earth was created, it takes God out of the picture.

Personally I feel insulted when they says we evolved for apes. I would rather have been created by a higher being than a monkey.

If there is no God, than there is no higher authority.
If there is no higher authority, than there is no one to answer to.
If there is no one to answer to, than I can do what I want.

It basically means who are you to tell me what I can or can not do, I will do what I want whether it hurts you or not.

Stalin loved Darwin's book that pointed to survival of the fittest.
And as Stalin was in charge he did away with million of those who were not fit to be his equal.

Is it? A recent study showed countries with high acceptance of evolutionary theory and low level of religious adherence were amongst the most educated, prosperous, and peaceful in the world.
