I read about this in a book years ago where the meditation helps you to see all the different souls connected to or within yourself. It is done in front of a mirror. Anyone know what I am talking about and can describe more?

*****I am saying some...not all religious people******

The whole prayer in school, prayer in work, prayer everywhere...I don't get it. Is there some law keeping people from having their religion? Keeping them from praying in their own private life?

I mean why when this comes up do people act like it is not possible at all to have thoughts, ideas, beliefs, religious convictions without government forcing people to have them?

I just always thought religion was about me and God...not me forcing you to listen to my prayer or forcing you to pray with me.

Did you know that Jesus promised, "I will build my Church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it"? (Matt. 16:18.) This means that his Church will never be destroyed and will never fall away from him. His Church will survive until his return. Did you know that among the Christian churches, only the Catholic Church has existed since the time of Jesus? Every other Christian church is an offshoot of the Catholic Church. The Eastern Orthodox churches broke away from unity with the pope in 1054. The Protestant churches were established during the Reformation, which began in 1517. (Most of today’s Protestant churches are actually offshoots of the original Protestant offshoots.) Only the Catholic Church existed in the tenth century, in the fifth century, and in the first century, faithfully teaching the doctrines given by Christ to the apostles, omitting nothing. The line of popes can be traced back, in unbroken succession, to Peter himself.

I have been called an atheist many times on here, why is that? I do belive something was here, but I don't belive in any "true" God(s). So why is it that in real life I am called an atheist? And even on here I am called that. And I'm not agonstic, for I do know my belifes, I just don't belive that a god could be all powerfull and stuff.

I'd like to see what everyone has to say about this, non-JW's, ex-JW's, and current JW's.

The reason why I speak against JW's is because was raised in it and was lied to and brainwashed my whole life. Many of you current JW's will deny this, but remember, this is my experience and I have taken the time to research and my findings have led me to believe what I believe today.

I have seen the destruction that the doctrines do to their members first hand. I don't want anyone else to experience what I experienced and I believe everyone should take the time to research inside and outside of any religion or organization before they join. Don't take my word for it read for yourself. Dont blindly accept and believe me or anyone else.

Learn, research, and think for yourself!!!

For instance: I am Jewish, and I've been inside several churches. I think some of the Christian prayers are so beautiful.

Have you ever been to a service in another faith's house of worship and if yes, what was it like for you?

After deep soul searching and intense commune with Christ, in addition to therapy and spiritual counselling to address my sexuality and my parents spending a lot of money on therapy, I still am not attracted to girls and I still get crushes on boys without even meaning to. I am still a virgin but I do want to fall in love and have someone to spend my life with one day. Something tells me, this will never happen with a girl. I have inflicted all kinds of emotional and mental scars upon myself because I was told, "With God all things are possible." and I truly felt I was not becoming heterosexual because I was stubborn or lacked faith or was unworthy. Now I am not so sure. My little cousin has a degenerative nerve disease. She and her parents prayed to God to heal her many times. Just like in my case, it's not that I doubt God CAN heal her, but whether or not it is not just God's plan for her. I wonder what is God's plan for me, why am I the way I am.

Can anyone relate to this?

christians have a word for those who believe. it's called saved. those who don't believe are damned. the muslims have a word as well for non-believers. it's called infidel. both these words have a negative meaning associated with them. yet for some reason they are not considered rude. however, i have a term for people who don't believe the way i do on matters of religion. the word is "stupid". it's a simple word and makes no outlandish claim as to what happens to you after you die. so why is that word considered so rude to use? is it any more obscene than telling someone they're going to burn for all eternity?

Ok, so if you really think about it, I mean, REALLY think about it like this, was Jesus really all about forgiveness or was he more just like about this, I mean, you know how he seemed and he seems like he seems because of what he had seen, right, and hes the son of god and god seems like he seems totally and less like jesus seems because god seems like he has seen everything because he's god, right? so think about it like this: was jesus less like he seems like he's about forgiveness and more like he seems like he's seen some horrible things and maybe more like, virtue in general you know what I'm saying?

Why would an all knowing god bother trying to convert those he knew never would? Some he preched to converted some never did, since he knew in advance why did he bother?

Seems like ineffective time management to me.

Why would any man give him 10 sheep and a daughter to marry?
