im kind of christian (hard to explain) and im 100 percent FOR gay marriage and i love homosexual ppl!! however i notice how so many christians use what some ppl call convenient hatred against gay ppl - they use the whole 'well in the bible it says being gay is a sin blah blah blah' ive gone to religious schools my entire life and whenever i bring up the fact that the bible was written in a completely different era and it was written by men which inevitably makes it biased they say that the bible applies to all times. then i say wel what about women being inferior to men, incest, racism, and slavery....all of which are in the bible and justified...and these self righteous christians go 'oh well thats different' ...funny.

what do you think about it?

A week ago at 32 weeks pregnant I was on my way to an abortion clinic to have a consultation (not the actual abortion). I had decided to have an abortion as the foetus was found to have a cleft lip and this is something I do not wish to deal with. As I was coming upto the clinic a pro-life protestor came upto me hurled abuse at me and tried to stop me entering the building.I put up some resistance so he grabbed me by the hair and punched me in the face.I fell to the floor and had to walk home. What I wanted to know is,do you think he was justified? I think it is NEVER right for a man to hit a woman never alone a heavily pregnant one unless he is in danger of his life but this man obviously thought he was doing a good thing.Surely whether you agree with what I'm doing or not what this man did was sick? And I may not have even been going for anything to do with an abortion!!!! I may have been there to support a friend or something.

I heard someone say that it was ceramonial law. I'm guessing they ment that it was done away with.

Through out psalms and other books it talks about lifting your voice AND string instruments in praise.

WHy come singing is not alowed in church then....??? Its music and praise, whats the differents?

If public schools enjoy diversity, why do they push their it's okay to be gay agenda on me, and their evolution agenda on me? I am sick of feeling like a freak because I don't waver in my beliefs, they tell me I am brainwashed. I tell them I was baptized in the name of Jesus and I have not been brainwashed I have been blood washed. I am now home-schooled, and plan on graduating that way. Just because I think the act of being gay is a sin doesnt mean I hate gay people, true christians dont judge or bash anybody, cuz one sin is as bad as all. Anyway if they are supposed to be so diverse why are Christian beliefs not allowed in most schools. I would have got detention for praying over my meal at lunch. They promote bullying, because they are bullying me for my beliefs. This is not diversity!!

The Founders of the USA largely shared a very narrow view of the Separation of Church and State. They proved this both by their words and, more importantly, their ACTIONS.

1) They didn't want a NATIONAL FEDERAL official State Church as Great Britain had with the Church of England.

2) They didn't want Christianity declared the official religion at the NATIONAL FEDERAL level.

3) They had ZERO problem with the Sovereign States and Other Governmental bodies declaring themselves to be Christian in inspiration and character.

4) They had ZERO problem with Schools at all levels teaching the valuable lesson to found in the Holy Bible.

5) They encouraged Schools to start every day with prayers.

6) They would vomit if they heard today's lib-freak atheists claim that ANY of them would support their extremist Anti-Christian agenda.

I keep hearing complaints from Christians about Atheists being insulting on here. The complaints are getting louder.

I just asked a question in which I CLEARLY stated that I didn't believe in Intelligent Design and was answered by a few snarky Atheists who told me to "get over it" and persisted in thinking I was a Christian.

I assume you're mostly kids out of school for the summer. Great. Play here. It's fun. But at least play with manners. Don't give Atheism a bad name - we really get smeared quite enough and don't need any help.

Why *do* you think some of us just insult? A defense mechanism? Is it just immaturity? What do you think?

I don't know if this exists so I'm hoping someone else will have a hint. Basically I'm looking for a statistical analysis of topics in the Bible. That is, each verse broken down to a particular topic/category that is belongs in and counted up / analyzed etc. I've heard of studies that are done on particular topics, but I don't know if anyone has tried to topic-ize the whole thing.

thanks in advance

I have been wondering this for a while now.
I am always trying to include everyone in my prayers. I wanted to know if I had to say name by name of the people that I pray for. I even pray for people that I don't know. Like people all over the world. But for the ones around me should I say there names in my prayer or can I just do a general prayer to include everyone?
Another question about prayer is:
Do I have to or need to get on my knees at night when I say my prayers? I have just been getting in the bed and saying them while laying down.

It seems to me that the most selfish people, really have very little sense of who they actually are. Their narcissism is built on insecurity and a lack of real self awareness. Their grandiosity is a kind of defensive compensation. A house of cards that needs continual support.

It seems to me that somebody trying to be selfless without addressing their shadow, (their unconscious individuality), could grow into quite a monster.

**Spirituality usually emphasises selflessness and oneness, but is it important to be conscious of, respect and honour our self-interest and individual needs too?

99% of all species that have ever lived, have become extinct. How does God's alleged "perfect" jibe with such a number? How is this evidence of "intelligent design"?

Thanks!

I've been dealing with an ear infection all weekend. I don't feel particularly sick today but I'm grumpy and irritable on a scale that's bad even for me. Everytime I think of something to do with myself (school work, video games, reading) it sounds stupid and boring. What should I do with myself???

Negatively it is deliverance from guilt, power, and love of Sin. Positively, it is an intiation into the kingdom of God, which puts you right with God and makes you His child. In action, it is conversion a Turning from sin to God. How many of you find this easier said and done?

For a supposedly perfect entity to be attributed with flawed human attributes such as compassion, mercy, and anger, wouldn't that, in effect, render "God" IMPERFECT, thus not truly "godlike?"

and it turns out there's a religious dispute inside the house, reminded me a lot about R+S. There's an atheist named Dick, and a Christian named Amber. Every so often they get into fights and religion will sometimes be a topic in those fights. It usually ends with Amber going into another room praying to God in between sobs.

Now for anyone who's watched (not really sure many have though): is Dick your stereotypical atheist? Lots of tattoos, piercings, mean spirited, foul mouthed, involved with drugs, etc? (Those wanting to see what Dick looks like you can go to cbs.com and to the Big Brother page)

Do you get the feeling that Dick would become a regular quickly on Y!A R+S?

Or was it just that humans are too self-centred to realise that animals besides inhabitants of the African savannah actually exist, and that sticking them out of the top is the only way to demonstrate their existence?
