Windom Earle, Tom Waits almost counts as a "concert that can't happen." He still plays music, but he's impossible to catch these days.

I'm an old school guy, I'd like to see Rock-n-Roll Heaven.
Buddy Holly
Ritchie Valens
Elvis
John Lennon & George Harrison
Janis Joplin
Mamma Cass
Jerry Lee Lewis (I know he ain't dead yet but it can't be much longer)
toss Chuck Berry into the not dead yet, but soon file too
Randy Rhoades
That would be one hell of a show!
Whoops! Almost forgot John Bonham and Wendy O Williams.

Ha, I know I just told you I won't be around much. But I saw this Q in your list and what can I say. I'm a music junkie. I'm going to have to give you a list and then tell you a story.
Galaxie 500
Minor Threat
Miracle Legion (I only saw them 5 times and it wasn't enough)
Tortoise
Miles Davis (circa 1963)
Charles Mingus
Flying Saucer Attack
Songs: Ohia
John Coltrane
Da Lata
Fela Kuti (although I have seen Antibalas, which is a reasonable substitute)
Art Blakey
Those are the only ones that I would say I'm missing. I've seen a lot of concerts that are more important to me than these.
Now a story. A while back I was driving to Pittsburgh and I was listening to The Wedding Present. I was thinking how much I regretted not having seen them live before they split. I got in late on a Friday and the next day my friend and I went to the record store. I was standing in the back and I heard this guy talking to the clerk up at the counter and he said what sounded like "Are you guys selling tickets to the Wedding Pressing show?" I asked my friend if she had heard what I heard and she said no. So I walked up to the counter and I said, "Um, this might sound crazy but did that guy just ask you about a Wedding Present show?"
Turns out the group had recently reformed (well without most of the originals, but the same front man) and they were playing a show in town the next Monday.
Oh, that show was totally brilliant I couldn't have asked for a better set list. All my favorites.

mama24, your story reminds me of a time I saw Morphine in West Palm Beach, Florida. This was just like two or three months before the singer died.
There were some seniors in the back of the theater (maybe 70 years old or so) and I was a bit curious about them at first. But at one point during the show, the singer said that this was the first time they had ever played south florida so I figured maybe it was somebody's parent's and/or grandparents.
I don't know if it was or if it was the first time they had seen him. But I definitely thought of them when I heard that he had died.

I'd like to see Pearl Jam.
I'd also like to see the original KISS lineup, sans makeup, bombs, blood, etc. I'd love for them to prove to the world that, despite the over-the-topness of their live shows, their fans also love their music. They have written some classic arena anthems with GREAT hooks. Toss in some album cuts, and the fans would eat this up. I can't imagine what a crowd of KISS diehards would do when Ace launched into "Mr. Speed" or "All-American Man".
It will never happen, because Ace is a train wreck, and Gene and Paul are too egotistical to let this happen, but that would be a show I would pay BIG money for.

Well, I got to see The Police. THAT was something I didn't think would ever happen.
But it's always been Peter Gabriel. I got close a few years ago, but it didn't happen at $109 a ticket. I'd pay it. I just didn't have it.
So, Peter or Alanis. She seems to avoid the Midwest. :(

Are we counting concerts that can't happen? If so, I'm going with Howlin' Wolf.
If we're forced to submit to reality, I'd go with The Residents.
