yeah. Because personally I believe that if evolution were true it would mean that it was God's plan for us so as we got nearer to the last days we would be smarter to understand his word better.

Yes.

I, personally, have my doubts about evolution, just as many others do--not just Christians. If it were proven beyond the shadow of a doubt I would be forced to revise my thinking; I would still be a Christian, but I would be willing to accept that God created a mechanism by which nature could take care of itself. Remember, the Bible says that God created the animals; nowhere does it say that those were the same animals we have today.

To all those who have said evolution is proven: I can tell none of you are scientists. The fact that something has not been disproven is not evidence, and that's really all we have. No one was around to watch the dinosaurs evolve into birds, and the only way a theory can be proven is by observation.
Darwin was a serious scientist; he knew perfectly well--and never hesitated to admit--that what he had was just a theory, and we've not found any conclusive evidence yet.

You assume that Christians do not believe the evolution may be the mechanism through which God did the creating of man. That His is the hand or force which started, drives and controls evolution. Same with the Big Bang and other ideas about creation.

Just because science has figured the mechanics by which gravity works, that does not mean God did not create it. Just because science has figured out the mechanics by which the earth revolves, that does not mean God did not create it.

If science eventually figures out the mechanics by which God created plants, animals and humans, that does not mean God did not create them.

Rather the fact that science is able to discover and understand those things shows that there is a logical, consistent and intelligent design behind them. And most likely a Designer. That is God.

Do you remember all that stuff they taught in school about an ape becoming an ape man and eventually becoming a man with a briefcase? Well scientist have changed that theory. So now all those text books are just made up lies.

You may wonder how that information got in books if it wasn’t solid proof that Evolution was true…
That is what evolutionist do. They take a theory and try to draw up imaginary pictures and call it fact. Then when new facts come out they say “well we are learning and growing and it’s good that we have NEW evidence”
That’s fine and dandy but don’t take GOD out of school and then stick a bunch of lies in our books instead.

Teach kids the GOD theory
Teach kids the Science theory.

Why are atheist so worried about hearing both sides of the story? Afraid you will loose your faith?

I doubt it would have much impact. They'd either continue to deny it, or adopt a fuzzy understanding of it and carry on.

After all, evolution itself (ignoring cosmology and abiogenesis that some think evolution encompasses) has been beyond any reasonable doubt for 150 years, and in that time each major new discovery in related fields like genetics has only served to back the theory up. No-one who seriously understands how genes, life and biological development works has the slightest doubt about it.

And yet creationists continue to state that it's flawed, controversial, mistaken, unsupported, overturned - even totally ridiculous. And some Churches have simply adopted it as if it has no impact on their beliefs.

The theory is statistical in nature and is based upon random chance. It cannot be proven because there is only one evolution and you can't apply statistics to a single case.

Evolution has been proved, as have many other other theories ... such as the earth not being flat and the sun (not the earth) is at the center of our solar system.

If the world was proven to be a basket woven from cypress roots I wouldn't be a Christian. If God was proven to be a Jehovah Witness I wouldn't be a Christian.

It has been proven, and yes, I am a Christian. There is no conflict between the two. Truth cannot conflict with truth.

I guess so. Even if I don't believe in organised religion, it's impossible to deny the existence of a divine, higher force that control everything in this world. It's impossible to accept that evolution, or the Big Bang, or the Golden Ratio or how the universe exists because of coincidences.

Evolution has already been proven, as much as anything can be proven; but, there are always some people who prefer to live in a fantasy world and no amount of proof or evidence is going to change that.
