The Founders of the USA largely shared a very narrow view of the Separation of Church and State. They proved this both by their words and, more importantly, their ACTIONS.

1) They didn't want a NATIONAL FEDERAL official State Church as Great Britain had with the Church of England.

2) They didn't want Christianity declared the official religion at the NATIONAL FEDERAL level.

3) They had ZERO problem with the Sovereign States and Other Governmental bodies declaring themselves to be Christian in inspiration and character.

4) They had ZERO problem with Schools at all levels teaching the valuable lesson to found in the Holy Bible.

5) They encouraged Schools to start every day with prayers.

6) They would vomit if they heard today's lib-freak atheists claim that ANY of them would support their extremist Anti-Christian agenda.

I knew one of the unlearned lib-freaks would attempt to claim Thomas Jefferson as a fellow Christian-Hater. Another FACT. As Founder of the University of Virginia, TJ issued a copy of the New Testament to EVERY incoming student. And TESTED them on it.

Here are so more statistics:

In the 60s not one kid shot his class mates. Christian faith was a part of school. discipline was a part of school

We took them both out.

Now kids are shooting kids in schools.

Bummer.

You are ignorant of history. Country was founded on secularism.

1-3) The Virginia Statute for Religious freedom pre-dates the US Constitution and was drafted by Thomas Jefferson in 1776. It was the first document in the hisotory of the world that stated the men should be free to practice their religion as they see fit... or not. Atheist were around in those days too. This was written by Thomas Jefferson and championed by James Madison.

3) Several states like Massachusetts had already set up official churches but decided at the Constitutional Convention in 1791 that they had erred. After hearing the inpassioned words of secularist. they ratified the religious freedom of expression on a federal level and then went home and re-wrote their own state constitutions to include it.

4) What valuable lesson can anyone learn from a Bible? How to contridict oneself? How to kill a hooker or own slaves? Murder perhaps?

5) No, no one on a fesderal level encouraged schools to begin with prayer. To do so would violate the 1st amendment.

6) No they would not vomit at me for maintaining religious freedom. They would freak out at how so many christians want to trade liberty for all for the very thing they fled england for. Religious tyranny. The zombie founders would b@$chslap you.

The very first Supreme Court Justice, John Jay, said:

"Americans should select and prefer Christians as their rulers."

Lets put it around the world and let the world see and remember what this great country was built on.

It is said that 86% of Americans believe in God. Therefore, it is very hard to understand why there is such a mess about having the Ten Commandments on display or "In God We Trust" on our money and having God in the Pledge of Allegiance. Why don't we just tell the other 14% to Sit Down and Be Quiet!!!

Yes, great, it's very sad what people think today - it
is heading towards the end times quickly.

There is a scripture about truth no longer being tolerated.

2 Timothy 4:3 (Amplified Bible)
3For the time is coming when [people] will not tolerate (endure) sound and wholesome instruction, but, having ears itching [for something pleasing and gratifying], they will gather to themselves one teacher after another to a considerable number, chosen to satisfy their own liking and to foster the errors they hold.

I think Jesus would have said, "Let the dead bury the dead." and "Give to Ceasar what's Ceasar's" and "go preach the word, be at it diligently..." "the good news of the kingdom of God." We're not Paul's or Barnabas' or some denomination's. When everyone get and understands the message, the end will come. I don't think it's in the gov's hands. It's not their job. They are the world.

They didn't use the words National and Federal. They said there should be no state religion and that the state and religion should be kept apart.

As for your points 3 to 6, I have read a lot of history and never saw one of those statements, ever.

I beg to differ. Since Christians made the positive assertion that their God exists, but have utterly failed to provide one shred of tangible evidence to support their assertion, they have lost the moral high ground. No reasonable person need believe them. It is always impossible to prove a negative assertion because all possible circumstances cannot be tested. This means atheists have no logical requirement to prove their position. It is the Christians who have made extraordinary claims they cannot substantiate. In my view, this means it is the Christians who are the extremists. Christian fundamentalists are positively eager for Armageddon. Thus, it is Christian extremists who are the sworn enemy of all human civilization and my bitter enemy. The human species will never achieve its full potential until we rid ourselves of the ancient superstitions and extremist bigotry of our bronze age ancestors.

I believe the intention of the founding fathers was to create an environment of religious freedom in our country. That means you have freedom from the fear of government persecution for your faith....REGARDLESS of what you believe.

They never meant for Christianity to be taught in the public schools, or endorsed by the state......

They also never meant for Christianity to be silenced by those crying "Separation of church and state!".

True freedom comes when we are allowed to express our faith in public without fear of reprisal. That, my friends, is what we have lost in the last century.

Times have changed. There are so many more different religions with large followings in the US. The "Old Days" are gone forever and never coming back. Any government that doesn't change with the times is in trouble.
