O.K. to shorten the original question...this one about David and Jonathon

2 Samuel 1:26 (New International Version)
New International Version (NIV)
Copyright © 1973, 1978, 1984 by International Bible Society

26 I grieve for you, Jonathan my brother;
you were very dear to me.
Your love for me was wonderful,
more wonderful than that of women

Granted they also pursued women...Bathsheba, etc...But, love being more wonderful than that of women...obviously implies homosexuality.

And, please do not say this is "brotherly" love...."brotherly" love is quite different than that spoken of here....

Your thoughts?

Or is it possible for lust to come only after love? If that is the case, how frequently does that actually happen?

What are the odds that you wouldn't lust after your future spouse before marriage?

With the multitude of paedophile cases which have come before the courts regarding catholic priests and the grave damage which this does to our religion both financially and in terms of being taken seriously should the catholic church vet its trainee priests more rigorously.

We catholics should be setting a moral example to the rest of mankind therefore it is paramount that our priests are seen to be beyond reproach in all of their behaviour:

Can can the church tackle this problem?

"Eternity is a long time to be wrong!" All freethinkers have heard this retort, which is a more refined version of "You're going to hell!" This comment is psychotic, in that these blind believers believe there is a "loving" and "forgiving" god person who will hideously punish anyone who dares to question "his" existence. Obviously, we reject such an ugly concept, so this threat doesn't scare us. Also, what if YOU'RE wrong? You have condemned millions of people to hell in your thoughts and words, not to mention that, if you're a Christian, you believe the Jews are guilty of killing God! These are pretty heinous accusations, so you had better be sure that you're not wrong. Blind belief is not a win-win situation. Indeed, it is intellectually dishonest and harmful.

saying that he isn't going to listen to her so about two months ago I stopped asking her to talk to him, I prayed all day Saturday fasting and praying and reading the bible asking God to intervene, and on Monday at 2 in the morning my sister said that she was fast asleep and that she was awoken and that at that time she sent my husband a text message of everything she felt in her heart it was 15 pages long and that she just cried until she finally finished and fell asleep. My question is do you think God spoke to her and do you think that this will make my husband react and see the mistakes he is making?

so that mean that a person can commit any sin he/she wants, can steal, can lie. so a person is not afraid of getting punished by the sins he/she commits. since Jesus already died for our sins! then why bother to worry about getting punished for it.

and if christians still asking for forgiviness and repent their sins, then what was the point of Jesus death ?

He takes a break from an eternity in heaven to experience 34 years of being the centre of attention to devoted followers capped off by an unpleasant death.
Compared to the amount of time in heaven, these 34 years dont even register.
But we're told that God loved us so much that he sent his Son to die for us.
I'm just not seeing the ordeal..

Why are my questions answered by people at a rate of %70 atheists, %30 theists? Regarding the fact that there are less than %15 atheists what does this show to us?
Are they trying to enlighten people because they are very bright (they just happen to know everything without any need to explore) or they need to relax by talking about it?
I AM REALLY CURIOUS WHY?

PS: I got lots of anwers like this. Jumpy answers...

Since every denomination says that the other denominations aren't "true Christians," whilst asserting their own true christian status, does that mean that there are no true christians?

This question has been inspired by a different question that I read earlier: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AmpjX6kkhTxRwTTHL4MciUHsy6IX?qid=20070809072124AAFA1Tw&show=7#profile-info-YB7pQx06aa

Muslims and Christians both harbor a belief that they each believe in the one true god and have the one true religion and that everyone else is false. However when the history of Islam and Christianity are viewed in the wider context of the entire history of human civilisation, they are actually young religions that arose relatively recently. Sophisticated civilisation has existed thousands of years prior. Muslims and Christians will have everyone believe that civilisation was barbaric before these religions were born and it was they who civilised. However, the civilisations that they destroyed, in an endeavour to convert them, were actually more sophisticated than what they become after. Example Babylonia, Greece, Byzantine, Vedic India, Zoroastrian Persia etc etc etc.

Why need we have continued researching after we had the electric valve? Did what we have work so well that there was no need to develop first the transistor and then microprocessor technology?

Indeed, if you think that a discovery has to be static if it's to mean anything, would we ever have got past the point where hitting one stone against another makes a spark?
