If Christ was to return to the earth in human form, born of a woman like some religious believe, what are the odds that he will make it (or did make it) past the surgeon's table?

Why did he need to steal one of Adam's ribs to create Eve?

Couldn't he have just used more dirt?

Or did he run out of spare parts?

Every time I question Islams religious practice's of hanging or stoning, the Muslims on the board here don't directly address the subject. And why is that?

Instead of answering my question it's look, look at America. And why is that?

Do you actually think that America is the problem of the Islam religion?

To what degree do your religious views influence this perspective?

Obviously there are a lot of possibilities so I will provide some examples to help focus the question. I am an American so this list is necessarily influenced by 'that' social upbringing. Of course, feel free to just "talk" and not address any of these specifically.

Dogs
Apes
Dolphins
Elephants
Parrots
Pigeons
Eagles
Fish (general)
Turtles
Alligators/crocodiles
Snakes (poisonous/large constrictors/"dangerous")
Snakes (nonpoisonous/"nondangerous")
Butterflies
Beetles (general)
Ants
Mosquitos
Octopi
Jellyfish

Galatians 3:28 says for "there is neither Jew nor Greek, slave or free, male or female, in Christ we are one."

If God doesn't see us as male or female...he obviously doesn't see us as gay or straight.....

Do you believe this part of the Bible? Or, do the verses that condemn homosexuality trump this one? Or, does it come down to where your heart is?

This has had a big impact on me. I know it happens everywhere but I can't seem to shake the feeling that, although I believe in God, religious organizations are just one big lie. My husband is an Atheist so he can't help me in my dilemma. Can anyone offer any hope?

Why do churches schedule baptisms for a later date when EVERY example of a conversion in the book of Acts has the convert being baptized immediately?

Baptism is specifically mentioned in all of these conversions, and none of these converts ate, drank, slept, or continued a journey until they were baptized.

For example Saul (Paul), had no food or drink for three days (Acts 9:9). When Annanias instructed him, “be baptized and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord” (Acts 22:16), he was baptized before he ate! (Acts 9:18-19) Surely he must have been hungry!

The eunuch was baptized in the middle of a journey! (Acts 8:35-39) The Jailor was baptized about midnight! (Acts 16:25, 33) In Acts 2, about 3000 were all baptized the same day.

Do you believe praying helps deal with or resolve issues or to bring guidance in your life, or do you feel that it is of no value?

Most religious people believe that their religion is the only one that can get them into Heaven. Since people in areas concentrated with certain religions tend to grow up to follow that religion (Mexico and Catholicism, Middle East and Islam for example), how do you justify that God put people in places that you believe they won't follow the "correct" religion?

If a baby is born blind for them the reality of life is that thier is no light....How do they eventually grow to know what the world looks like? can they imagine what the sky is like? a mountain, a ocean? they usually have a keen knack for smell and touch and that is the reason they can imagaine what the ocean might be like.. they have a proof without sight....

When you cannot see GOD, you believe when you give your entire self to him body mind and soul when you show him you obey the FIRST COMMANDMENT and then you see the POWER he gives to those with a sincere heart by the Holy Spirit working in thier life.

This is no different than a person born blind or deaf they know something is real when everyday life tells them different..

If you are blind and never choose to see if something is real then don't you always walk in darkness and I guess that would be a reality as well.
Thoughts?

My 22 year old son returned from a mission a little over a year ago. He attends the singles ward. He has always been akward, hasn't dated much, was always picked on. He has been active in the LDS Church..

Well, he has a girl friend that is Baptist that has attended church a few times but you can tell she is not interested in the church. For months he told us that they were "just friends." I guess he thought we were stupid since we knew this wasn't true. They are talking about marriage.

He currently is suppose to pay us "rent" of $175 per month plus he still owes us over $485 for bailing him out of a financial mess.

We are strong and active members of the LDS Church. The way things are going, they will not get married in the Temple and this breaks our hearts. Who knows if he will remain active in the Church. We already have one son that is totally inactive.

I assume we just learn to love this girl, who doesn't seem to like us. This may not seem like a big deal but it hurts

Is it possible that God would allow the devil to introduce someone into your life that is not a christian relationship, knowing what we are going to choose, 2 help you and that person on your path to salvation.

Even if it meant you would be shuned by the Church you are attending?

What if you were led to become a youth pastor and the people that have been supporting you would no longer support you in your calling?

God created Adam and Eve instantaneously. He literally told them not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good & evil and of life. If he didn't literally tell them, how could they know not to do it? So, we agree that God literally spoke to the VERY FIRST people on Earth, Adam and Eve. Why is it then, that your version of God is not the FIRST version of God ever worshiped?

Also, It would be more believable if two very different cultures on opposite ends of the Earth who never communicated with each other worshipped the same version of God, but this never happened. Why? When God came back to be remembered (after all these other "false" religions have already been formed) why was your version of God only worshipped in one general area? Why not on all parts of the world? Why did He only pay attention to one part of the world?

...more so than HOW we got here? Which is truly more important?

I'm not trying to win anyone to evolution because the research isn't finished yet. If anything, I wish people from all opinions would be more open handed about the matter. Science or progress should not be the enemy of Christians. It feels to me that the Creationists who do attempt research are so intent in proving their point, they miss the larger truth and time and time again humiliate themselves. It seems unnecessarily desperate. If you truly believe in God, then relax and just look for the truth, whatever it is.
