God isn't going to destroy the world, according to the Bible. There are lots of tribulations.... and then the 1,000 year kingdom of god on earth... followed by judgment day where god will judge the living and the dead, as well as Satan, and Satan and the unworthy will be cast into the lake of fire. There will be a new Jerusalem created by God after that, and new heaven and new earth..... check out Revelation 20 through 22.
After judgment day, God comes down to earth with New Jerusalem, and dwells among men, and there is no more death, or badness of any kind. That's apparently where we go after judgment day.
This whole idea of going "up" to heaven is not in accord with these portions of revelation.
