Good question....

It is simply for legalities and such. In order to do things such as.....

Be on the same insurance......
File in a different tax bracket....

Things of a legal nature. Other than that, when 2 people give their vows to one another in the presence of God and at least one witness.....they are married.

Completely two different things. A marriage license is a political thing so the government can take your money and for all that other legal mumbo-jumbo. God never said you have to be baptized, that was just another political move by a certain religious sect.

When a man and a woman give themselves to each other they are married, at least in the eyes of God.

You don't. The purpose of a marriage license is to establish a civil contract, which grants privileges and imposes duties on the parties. It is quite possible to be part of a couple without either a civil contract or a religious procedure; people do it all the time. The civil contract affects rights of survivorship and inheritance, has tax implications, and a number of other properties, so it needs to be entered into with some thought.

Actually, in some religious groups like Church of Christ, you have to be baptized to be a believer. Marriage licenses are just legal contracts, but some people see them as the final effort. Like, they are proud to know that they both took the step to make it legally official.

You usually don't. It is just that the government will not recognize you as legally together unless you get a marriage licence. This does differ, but so does whether you need to be baptized to be a believer.

You can be a "couple" without a marriage license. Just not a married couple because that is the law but baptism is just an outward symbol of your covenant. Baptism is like the wedding rings and the Book of Life is like the marriage license.

This is an extreme comparison. Baptism is a statement to the world that you're following Christ.

A marriage license is the legal binding according to the government who enforces it. If there are no other laws in any given country, a vow is good enough. There's a verse (forgive me for not knowing where) in the Bible that says submit to the government set above you in certain matters.

A marriage license is a legal paper not a spiritual thing.

you don't need a certificate from the local government office for God to recognize two people as Husband and Wife. but the legal certificate helps for lots of other things like taxes, medical insurance, etc.
