Richard Dawkins tells them not to.

He is their god.

I can get an x-ray of my brain or you can cut the top of my skull off, or you can look at previously dissected bodies that brains and make the logical assumption that you also have one - so thats a very very poor analogy.

there is no evidence that your god exists - pretty simple and I doubt you can come up with someone which we all believe in but has zero evidence to prove it exists

Seriously you really honestly think you're making a valid argument? The point is we can prove we have brains, I wouldn't be typing this reply if I didn't. You cannot prove your god or any god exists. If there were other gods floating about that definitely existed your analogy might make some sense but there aren't.

I don't think there is a god because nothing in my surroundings logically connects to god. If no one ever told me what god was, I never would have thought of him on my own.

See, the brain argument...OK. I have never seen my brain. However, I have seen other people's brains and I know that at one point they were alive and functioning and that logically leads me to believe that I too have a brain. Which is provable if I drilled into my head, I'm sure I would see it, but I opt not to.

1.) I can see my brain in an MRI or CAT scan.

2.) I *AM* my brain -- I don't need proof to know that I'm here.

3.) I also know that lots of other people have brains, and that those brains tend to make them into talking, thinking beings that act upon and are affected by the world around them. Your god does none of that.

I've got several nice scans of my brain, plus some color photos of the fMRIs showing my brain activity, from back about 10 years ago when I was a volunteer in some visual perception studies.

If you think that's the first evidence that I had that I have a brain, you've got a very loose (and apparently shifting) notion of what "evidence" is.

Not exactly correct. If you have a surgen cut open your head you can clearly see, and touch your brain. Your brain is something real and physical. God is not. Thats the difference.

You do know it's been medically proven that people actually HAVE brains. Most believers in a supreme being apparently don't know how to USE them, though.

Ever worked on a cadaver? Guess what. There's a brain inside the head! PROOF!

I'm an agnostic. I don't believe in a Christian or Muslim 'God' because I haven't seen any evidence.

Additionally, the 'works' attributed to them, and the words and psychology of their followers is (by a majority) disturbing.

I see no more reason to believe in your god than I see to believe in the Force.
