Galatians 3:28 says for "there is neither Jew nor Greek, slave or free, male or female, in Christ we are one."

If God doesn't see us as male or female...he obviously doesn't see us as gay or straight.....

Do you believe this part of the Bible? Or, do the verses that condemn homosexuality trump this one? Or, does it come down to where your heart is?

You guys kinda get it...it means in the kingdom of heaven, it doesn't matter if you are male or female....exactly!!!!!

We are God's children....plain and simple....he doesn't see us as male or female.

In Christ we are all one. That's it. There are no qualifications and it does not say, "....except gay people." Although many will interpret it that way.

Notice how many tell you that you are not using "context." But when we take the verses used to justify homophobia and say that "context" must be used to determine their real meaning, we are told that we are "twisting Scripture" and "making God into a liar."

I don't see the contradiction.

I don't think homosexuality is right, but I think you can still be a Christian and be gay.

Quotes for dissenters to that:
You are really and truly and completely free. There is no kicker. There is no if, and, or but. You are free. You can do it right or wrong. You can obey or disobey. You can run from Christ or run to Christ. You can choose to become a faithfuk Christian or an unfaithful Christian. You can cry, cuss, and spit, or laugh, sing and dance. You can read a novel or the Bible. You can watch TV or pray. You're free. Freedom threatens relugious people because it takes away their control. Does being free mean that if I don't do what God says, he will still love me? Ues, that is exactly what it means. You might get hurt or regret what you've done, but you can do it and he won't stop loving you. You won't lose your salvation and you won't get kicked out of the kingdom. The more I experience his love and grace, the more I want to please him. Do you know a single atheist who stayed away from Christ because a Christian didn't act as holy and sanctified as he or she ought to have acted? I know they will say we are hypocrites-but usually that is just a smoke screen. The truth is what repeatedly kills our witness is pretense, not freedom. - Steve Brown, fundie pastor

Several times in my ministry, people have expressed the fear that self-acceptance will abort the ongoing conversion process and lead to a life of spiritual laziness and moral laxity. Nothing could be more untrue. The acceptance of self does not mean to be resigned to the status quo. On the contrary, the more we fully accept ourselves, the more successfully we begin to grow. Love is a far better stimulous than threat or pressure...When we accept ourselves for what we are, we decrease our hunger for power or the acceptance of others because our self-intimacy reinforces our inner sense of security. Over the years, I've seen Christians shaping God in their own image- in each case a dreadfully small God. Some Roman Catholics still believe only they will graze heaven's green pastures. There is the God who has a special affection for capitalist America, regards the workaholic, and the God who loves only the poor and the underprivileged; There is a God who marches with victorious armies, and the God who loves only the meek who turns the other cheek. Some like the elder brother in Luke, sulk and pout when the Father rocks and rolls, serves surf and turf for a prodigal son who has spent his last cent on whores. Some, tragically, refuse to believe that God can or will forgive them: My sin is too great. There is a myth flourishing in the church today that has caused incalculable harm- once converted, fully converted. In other words, once I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, an irreversible, sinless future beckons. Discipleship will be an untarnished story; life will be an unbroken upward spiral towards holiness. Tell that to poor Peter who, after three times professing his loves for Jesus on the beach and after receiving the fullness of the Spirit at Pentecost, was still jealous of Paul's apostolic success. A public sinner was excommunicated and forbidden entry to the church. He took his woes to God, "They won't let me in Lord, because I am a sinner." "What are you complaining about?", said God. "They won't let Me in either."- Brennan Manning

The entire passage tells us we are equal to each other in His eyes.
Jews and Greeks basically mean Jewish people and everyone else. There is no longer a lone after Christ. No division. Slave or free. They're the same.... whether you serve a master or serve none. Male or female.... (in corinthians, this idea is expounded on) males submit to females and females submit to males... everyone's equal. It has NOTHING to do with homosexuality. Be careful when quoting a verse to look at the verses around it.

a few verses back relating to the same topic it says: "You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus" This is simply put ALL it's talking about. We all belong to christ. He doesn't favor one over the other.

it kind of contradicts these scriptures that support and condone slavery:
Leviticus 25:44-46
Exodus 21:2-6
Luke 12:47-48

That means everyone should be equal, no matter of gender or nationality. It has nothing to do with homosexuality.

You were a Southern Baptist Minister and you don't know that!! I find that highly questionable. Or, are you holding a grudge because you came out!

Be happy for what you are and don't take down the religion that you were suppose studied and became a Minister.

God sees us all as His children. Although he does not judge us according to our gender, he does judge us according to the commandments he gives us. Homosexuality is a sin and all who struggle with it may overcome it with His help.

That's not what it means......

It means that in the kingdom of heaven, being male or female doesn't matter.

Yet another feeble attempt to debunk Scripture by ripping it out of context........when will you people quit?

I don't care what "God" says, yet I still do not approve of homosexuality. I have secular, logical reasons for my beliefs that it is unnatural, immoral (by dictionary definition), narcissistic, and a mental condition brought on by negative feelings towards the opposite sex.

You are overlooking the qualifier, in Christ we are one. There is no homosexuality in Christ.

No. I don't believe in the Bible at all. I believe on my own that homosexuals are people just like the rest of us. I believe that they are born with their sexual orientation, just like we are, and that there are good homosexual people and bad, just like heterosexual people. I don't believe in harrassing them, maligning them, ridiculing them or harming them in any way for how they are.
