People can believe it or not but every time I pray to Saint Anthony (patron saint of lost things) I find what I'm looking for.
A couple of years ago, I was with my family at a beach on Lake Ontario. I was on a inner tube riding the waves (they were pretty big waves) and a huge wave toppled me and sent me flying. I lost my glasses (I'm blind without them) in the water and the innertube went sailing away. My glasses were gone and there was no way I was going to find them in the 5 foot deep murky water, so I swam after the inner tube.
About 10 minutes later I was thinking, "Damn, now I'm going to have pay another $200 for new glasses", so as I was playing in the waves I started to pray to St. Anthony even though I knew there was no way I would ever find my glasses. I was just in the middle of saying my prayer when sure enough I stepped on something in the sand below my feet in the water. It was my glasses. The chances of that were one in a billion.
No one can ever convince me prayer doesn't work.

Yes I believe in prayer as I am a Christian and I know that it helps resolve issues and brings healing for body soul and mind.
Hope that helps.

Well, I don't look at prayer in the way that I did as a practicing Christian, such as asking God to do something for me. I see prayer as a connection to my own divine intelligence (we are all a part of the divine). I see prayers as thoughts that can be directed to help guide me when I feel I need guidance. I am using prayer to reconnect to myself and to find out what I need to do.
Also, if I practice loving-kindness meditation (metta) then I am not only helping myself become more loving and kind towards others, I am actually sending them good thoughts, prayers, positive energy that will benefit them.
So, yes, I do believe in prayer.

Yes, I do. I know of many times that when I have prayed for someone or something, prayer does change things, especially when my son was hit by a stupid b**** who was drunk and driving, ran a red light, and totaled his car, he was not expected to live. the moment they called me from the hospital, and told me they didn't want to alarm me, but my son had been in an accident the night before, and was not expected to live, so I said I would be right there, and they said I had to wait for visiting hours.........but I told them what I thought, but I still called everyone I know that has a prayer chain, and ask them to pray for him, and in 2 weeks, he made it to his graduation from college....it was truly a miracle!!

I believe it does, but I don't believe God exists. I mean, prayer (or meditation) is a major facet of every religion and it works for all of them. I think just talking about a problem can help resolve it and bring guidance to your life.

I believe in prayer. Not as in I'm going to win the lotto. Sometimes I pray just to talk to God about how crappy my day was. When I got sick I prayed to Him. I didn't get better, but I had felt more centered. Almost as if when you need to talk to your Mom, Dad or best friend when you are having a bad day. That's kind of what it is like, for me anyways. I don't expect miracles. I just like knowing He is there to listen to me when no one else can or will.

Prayer is all about intent and affirmation. I believe it works, b/c is the person praying truely believes that by affirming there belief change will come about, it shifts their personal energy in that direction, opens them up to the change and makes if favorable for it to happen. Those times that people pray and nothing happens are b/c someone else has plans for you already! That is why I believe in free-will and fate! They work hand in hand!

Prayer works and it is a tool given to us by God to help us in times of need. There are effective ways of praying. Read a good book on prayer. Prayer is essencial in ones life.
One night I had a dream and in my dream a voice said pray, this was very loud. I accept that it was the Holy Spirit warning me of a bad time approaching in my life and I gradually started to pray and today it is a way of life. This cured my life of longterm problems. Prayer stops bad entities to manifest in your life and put your life in jeopardy.

Prayer can be very powerful or completely empty. It all depends on what's in your heart when you pray.
You have to pray to the Living God and His Son Jesus for it to work though.

Prayer is sometimes the only thing that gets me through my day. Without it, I'd be completely lost. It gives me peace. I strongly believe in what Phillippians 4:6 says.
