OC, you ask me...as a Christian, where I
was when He laid the foundations? Why, I was in Him and with him [I,or you, or any one else with a soul didn't just "crawl out from out under a rock somewhere".]
As an elect, He has known me from the foundation.
"3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will," [Eph. 1:3-5] KJV

With some education, since many people are completely illiterate when it comes to Scripture. Also with a good study Bible that tells you for every verse, what the Manuscripts actually say. The phrase "Foundation of the World" is actually the "Katabole" in the Greek Manuscripts; the Katabole is the great war that Satan started when he rebelled; Satan wanted the Throne and the Position of the Christ. He thought he was entitled to it. The Katabole DID NOT HAPPEN in this flesh age; the Manuscripts are clear that there are THREE EARTH AGES: We live in the second of the three Ages, the Flesh Age. There is one more to come, which people call the "eternity". But the Katabole, that great war with Satan, happened BACK IN THE FIRST EARTH AGE. This is what caused God to destroy that AGE that was; not the Earth, as God said he would never destroy the Earth. He ended that prior earth age - and we were all there. Job chapter 39-40 describes how we were all living happy and in harmony in that AGE until Satan rebelled. Jeremiah 4 tells how God destroyed the age that was and warns that if people think he won't do it again, just look at what he did to the first earth age. It is very powerful information. In the New Testament, you can read 2peter Chapter 3 to learn about all three Earth Ages which is what God calls the Mystery - its only a mystery because of the false teaching and the inadequate teachings of the Church of today. People are mostly surprised if you even mention three earth ages; they have no idea what you are talking about. The Bible tells us that this Earth is eons and eons old, not the 6000 years that some Christian nuts state it is. The Science that tells you this Earth is billions of years old IS CORRECT and the Bible AGREES WITH IT. Not only is the Earth that old, but there was even an entire Earth Age before this one we live in now. I suggest the COMPANION BIBLE, PUBLISHED BY KREGEL; for every verse in this King James Bible, you will be told what the Original Manuscripts ACTUALLY SAY. This should be every Christians study Bible IF YOU WANT THE FULL TRUTH OF GODS WORD. Get one and go to the huge appendix in the back of the Book where you will find APPENDIX NUMBER 146, WHICH WILL TELL YOU WHAT THE MANUSCRIPTS SAY ABOUT THE THREE EARTH AGES AND explaining that the "Foundation of the World" is actually that war with Satan and the destruction of the AGE that was. There is so much more to Gods Word than what is being taught.

I wasn't around. Scientists now infer back from observed conditions and processes.
But since in Job 2:3 God also declares to Satan, of Job
".. you moved me against him, to destroy him without cause."
I'm not sure how to take the whole thing. If God can be tempted by Satan (while having chats with him!) then I run hard up against divine inspiration and inerrancy. I want to be able to take the book as an allegorical story at best!

The earth is built on a foundation, interesting. Does it still have four corners and four pillars?
Let's not do anything foolish, such as seek out knowledge.

Job didn't have an understanding of geology or cosmology. We, however, know better so God can't pull the same sh*t on us as he did on Job and feed us that line expecting us to take it.

On Wisdom:
I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.
13The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
14Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.
15By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.
16By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth.
17I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.
18Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.
19My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver.
20I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment:
21That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.
22The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.
23I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.
24When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.
25Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth:
26While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world.
27When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:
28When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:
29When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:
30Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;
31Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.
32Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways.
33Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.
34Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.
35For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.
36But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death
