I think if you look into the history of it, you will see that it was founded upon Christianity almost 100%, the god-given superiority of the White race, their god-given right to own slaves ordained by their lord Jesus Christ and antisemitism.
The KKK was in fact seen as freedom of religion.

During the Great depression it became socialist as well.

With the depression it concentrated on Christian racism and antisemitism again and became anti-socialist.

And Morris Dees, the Jew, undid them.

And todays American Christian Taliban is the KKK's natural progeny.

Does anybody have historical facts that contradict this?

To hit Yellowstone in 2012??

Why do you think the Biblical Community, the Scientific Community and some government entities are giving alot of forthought to the Mayan Prection of 2012???
Do you give any thought to 2012? as a Christian I prepare myself as best as I can for a huge calamity if it happens 2012,
tomorrow or today.
Yellowstone Caldera are beginning to appear. Investigations reveal that there was an unexpected sinking of the caldera from 1985 to 1995, after an unprecedented caldera uplift from 1923. Since 1995, volcanically and seismically activity may again be causing uplift in Yellowstone's caldera. The hot spot in the mantle beneath Yellowstone seems to be rising again. However, vulcanologists feel that the Yellowstone pressure cooker is about to burst between 2011 and 2012

Seems to me that if a god really existed and he made us then he would be responsible for how we are, and therefore for what we do... is that not so? If not, how do we absolve him of the responsibility for making us the way we are?

yes John 3:16 is the most well known with believers and unbelievers alike. infact you will hear and see it all over the world, but... what about the next verse
John 3:17
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

do you actually see him? like let's say you you're going to commit adultry. do you literally see satan standing there next to the man or woman you're going to sleep with, egging you on, telling you it's ok to do it? and if you do, shouldn't you realize that's satan, and that you probably shouldn't listen to him?

Take for instance a young, innocent child that is suffering from a terminal disease. When I hear about this happening or see it happening, my heart aches and one of my first thoughts is "Why, why, why?" Why did a small child have to endure such pain, and why would God allow this to happen?

I would love to hear your thoughts.

just as some people turn away from God due to a traumatic event in their life, some people turn to God due to the same thing. A woman asking or answering a question about children in heaven just may have a reason for asking that is very painful! At least on these types of questions, could we not mock each other and make jokes?

anyone in their community no matter if they are a member or not, no matter the situation. Some churches will bend over backwards to help anyone in need. Other Churches that are of the same faith, equal in size, and obviously have the abilty to help, won't help unless you are a member and when you talk to the members the help they offer is very limited.
Why is this?

I'm not bashing anyone or judging, just curious.

Just curious if other cultures used their deity's or deities', as the case may be, similiarly to how Christian influenced ones do.

Today I had to call at a house as part of my work as a building surveyor. The householder was polite and affable, but when I left he insisted on handing me a religious tract, and got quite peeved when I refused it. This has happened a few times before, at Christian and Muslim households, and it seems to be the case with many such religious people that even if you say you are an atheist, then that is merely a signal for them to redouble their efforts to convert you to their view. It's almost as if by replying that I don't believe in God, or Jesus, or Mohammed, or Allah, or whichever mythical deity/prophet they follow, that I'm somehow criticizing them. Or do organized religions not allow contrary opinions to their own doctrines?

I want real answers. Not "the bible told me so" or "my parents brainwashed me" or "I needed someone to bring me to salvation."

I'm curious. Real, intelligent answers from intelligent people.

I read in Matthew 12:36, 37 "But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned."

Then we read in Luke 6:45, "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh."

How can the Watchtower write TWO history books about themselves which emphasize repeatedly their assertion that the time of the end began in 1914, while failing to mention that up until 1925 (and possibly later), they insisted that "any reasonable mind" would recognize the "physical facts" were proof that the Time of the End began in 1799? (The Harp of God, page 234, 1925 edition, published by Watchtower)

Is that "whitewashing" their history? What is your opinion?

Their diapers in heaven? Maybe God have the angels change the diapers. I hope their bodies are so perfect in heaven that the need to eliminate waste is eliminated. Wouldn't it be nice if our bodies were that perfect on earth?

Why can’t I just say “I’m an Atheist” without it turning into a theological debate? Other people can say “I’m a Hindu” or “I’m a Jew” or “I’m a Christian” and no one questions that. I live in the bible belt. I always have this overwhelming feeling that I have to represent Atheists as best I can; dress nice, be kind and intelligent, but it’s a lot of pressure to constantly feel that I speak for an entire group of people.

In real life, I’m just a normal person trying to have a normal life. I don’t go around sparking religious debates. Just an hour ago, I dared to mention that I was an Atheist and I was pounced on by every “Proud Christian” in the room. I’m at school right now (college) and feeling a little vulnerable and ganged up on. I don’t believe that the Christians that were trying to convert me were doing so just for a selfless cause to save my soul. They were too eager. Too excited at the prospect, the challenge, like I was a project. Why? Have they no empathy?
