I find that devout atheists can be just as one-sided and condescending as devout christians. What do you think?

Surely with his omnipotent father, he could find more appropriate and convincing ways of proving his divine holiness? Or are these sightings of Jesus' figure in strange places purely wishful thinking?

I would like to know what Christians think of these claims also.

Patrick Glynn, a former atheist with a Ph.D. from Harvard, argues in God: The Evidence[1] that new scientific discoveries in cosmology, psychology, and medicine add up "to a powerful--indeed, all-but-incontestable--case for ... the existence of soul, afterlife and God (p. 2)." Written in a breezy popular style without nuances or subtle arguments and with a dust cover displaying glowing endorsements from Michael Novak, Robert Bork and Hans Kong, Andrew Greeley, Sir John Templeton, and George Weigel, Glynn seems completely unaware of the recent philosophical defenses of atheism by Antony Flew, Kai Nielsen, Keith Parsons, Quentin Smith and me.

Why don't you ADMIT you CHOOSE NOT TO BELIEVE because evidence contradicts you so many many times.

I have always liked the poem 'Footsteps' because it implys that God carried me when I needed help.

It seems like I have been in this self imposed pity party lately and it is making me sick to death.

Let's just shed the negativity and focus on some good. AND focus on others and not just myself. I hate it when I let the past screw with me because it is over.

Thank you to all of you who care about me. You made me smile from the inside for a change.

I am heading to the swimming pool to get some sun and some exercise.

Hugs to you.

The above links to a question regarding homosexuality. Let me start by saying that I recognize that the Christian religion and Bible regards homosexuality as a sin and this is not what I want to debate. What I want to know is why must you try to impose those beliefs on the rest of society?

My main point is: If the Christian church refuses to perform or acknowledge homosexual unions or marriages that is their right. There is nothing wrong with it because the government cannot impose it on the church. If the church doesn't want to perform or acknowledge gay marriage, then they don't have to and can't be forced to (if gay marriage were legalized throughout the US). But why must the church and Christian followers try to impose their beliefs on the rest of society, including the government, by fighting legalization of gay marriage? How would legalization of gay marriage affect you in any way?

After death, so sorry to burst your bubble, but many many cases have proved to people that they have witnessed a loved one after death which has provided much comfort..
The reasearch is there, so you are FLATLY WRONG TO SAY
*You will see your loved ones again* when they have suffered a loss.
Explain this?
People born blind can see during an NDEdocumented the solid evidence of 31 cases in which blind people report visually accurate information obtained during an NDE. Perhaps the best example in his study is that of a forty-five year old blind woman by the name of Vicki Umipeg. Vicki was born blind, her optic nerve having been completely destroyed at birth because of an excess of oxygen she received in the incubator. Yet, she appears to have been able to see during her NDE. Her story is a particularly clear instance of how NDEs of the congenitally blind can unfold in precisely the same way as do those of sighted persons

Part of living is surviving the death of a loved one. No matter how we try we can’t get around the aching, the pining and the loneliness.
The loss of a parent, a child, a spouse or a friend can devastate us. In our loss, it's often difficult to find comfort or understanding..AS an ATHEIST I am guessing most of you might say to a person suffering from this..I am sorry, if there is anything I can do for you, please let me know..That's nice but little comfort when a person is suffering.
THIS IS THE TRUTH-The awful truth is that nothing will make your grief go away and it may go on for a very long time. The comforting truth is that God is there to help you and sustain you through it. Reach out and take His hand. Let Him hold you and carry you through this. “Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you.” (James 4:8a KJV)

If you think you or another human being is capable of doing what most people find only in the comfort of GOD then why not present it to SOCIETY?

John the Baptist was baptized in the Holy Spirit before he was born.
Samuel was dedicated to the temple and to God after he was weaned.
Christ told his own disciples to "let the little children come to me". And women were even bringing their babies to Him for Him to bless.
I think it's both biblical and prudent, and our world would be a much better place if every infant was so treated. It's a blessing that lasts their entire lives, and not a horrible burden. It is a mark of God, not the devil.
