So how is it that there are billions of people that believe Mary was a virgin?? If it was possible for a virgin to get pregnant 2000 years ago, shouldn't it be possible today?

By the world's standards it impossible but according to God, all things are possible. Afterall, He did create the world in 6 days, right?

The virgin birth story was added after the fact by authors who were more familiar with Pagan mythology than Hebrew mythology.
In fact, virtually all of the Jesus story was concocted by Roman and Greek authors with limited direct knowledge of Hebrew literature and folklore.
Jesus himself appears to be an amalgam of at least three minor Hebrew celebrities. The name was most likely taken from Yeishu bin Pandeira (who, like all the others, had a human mother AND father).
Interesting side note: parthenogenesis may be possible (but extremely unlikely) in any higher mammal, but the child would always be female.

People then _did_ call Mary a lying whore (or the equivalent of it). Most did not believe her, just as most do not believe now.
It is just as possible for a virgin to become pregnant in 2007 as it was in -0.75 and by the same method. God just has not chosen to do that again.

It is possible. It was the work of God. If it was in God's plan today, of course it could still happen. I have a feeling that if Scientists had Jesus' DNA they would find some freaky thing going on with it. It might have a match with Mary, but not with Joseph. I wonder what it would have looked like.
P.S. Many didn't believe her and did call her names like that. It's why God sent Joseph nightmares of Mary being stoned. He had to marry her- to stand up for her.

The scripture is clear about it. Read it and you will know why we believe it. Of course it is possible today, if God should choose to do it that way...He will...but, He already did... Jesus paid the price for our sins. A second sacrifice is not necessary. However, I would not be so base as to call anyone a name like that...and you should be more polite to people. Your question is not respectful in tone, nor the manner in which you ask it.

Not true! A pregnant girl today has more way to get pregnant then to have sex. Read the Bible the Jews wanted to stone Mary for her pregnancy. They did not believe her!

Well, seeing as Jesus is God's son, but god isn't what you call human, the answer is simple: Mary banged God but it doesn't count because according to some people, go doesn't take on any shape or form, so really she was a virgin all along. OR He did it fancily so that He wouldn't brake her hymen.

I wouldn't call her names but I wouldn't believe her. According to my religion, when the Messiah comes back, he will not come back as a human so according to what I believe there will never be another immaculate conception.
I would never judge a young girl who claimed that and I wouldn't call her names, but I also wouldn't believe in her.

yes you're right! and if somebody did say that they would probably be excommunicated forever and labelled a heretic! That's the hypocrisy of religion - having faith in something that one doesn't believe could ever happen again. You know. if Jesus came back to earth, he would probably be executed again....only this time by the CIA or something.

A virgin can get pregnant if you inject semen into her womb using a syringe, never heard it happen, but teoretically it's possible. no magic involved whatsoever.
