yes John 3:16 is the most well known with believers and unbelievers alike. infact you will hear and see it all over the world, but... what about the next verse
John 3:17
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

point is... we as believers are very condenming to those who don't believe and even those who do believe but not exactly the way we as individuals do.
We are going to judged for how we treat each other, in word and in deed, born again or not. It's in the Word of God.
depart from me ,you worker of inquity.
IF IT'S NOT IN LOVE, GOD'S WAY, HIS LOVE, then it's wrong.
we will be held accounable for every word and attitude here on this site one day when we stand before Jesus..

This is how we Christians need to be living... not condemning others, but accepting them in love, and helping them along in life from that point. Remember God loves the person, and hates the sin. We will lead more people if we live like Jesus did.

Another overlooked text as Jesus talked with Nicodemus is John 3:20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
3:21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
3:22 After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized.
You see, God reads the heart, and calls those with a humble spirit. Satan knows his prons and gets them baptized into the church to cause problems. Yes, everyone who cries Lord, Lord, will not be saved.

No I always quote them together. The point of the verse is this...Jesus came the first time as Immanuel, God With Us!. The suffering servant, the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world!
Just as he said to the woman caught in adultery..."Neither do I condemn you. Go, and sin no more." That was his purpose then....forgiveness. And now is the time to accept that forgiveness!

It doesn't seem so to me that there are any most overlooked scriptures. Each of us are touched by different verses.
Possibly the reason John 3:16 is so widely quoted is that
1) it is easy to remember
2) the whole essence of Christanity is so simply and yet elegantly condensed into it
3) the message contained within it is so powerful

No! I know it.
John 3:18-20
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. [19] And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. [20] For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

That's true. Jesus did come to save the lost and not to condemn. But, when they don't repent of their sins and accept the gracious offer of salvation He gives, they end up in Hell paying for their own sins. I have to add that you forgot verse 18 which says, "He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."
If Jesus had shown up the FIRST time to condemn without saving people first, He would have returned to God the Father empty handed. We ALL would have been condemned to Hell. But God made a way for mankind to avoid His righteous judgment. Because God is such a gracious, loving God He had His perfect Son pay the price for our sins.
If you refuse to repent and accept God's forgiveness of your sins through Jesus Christ, you pay for them yourself in hell.
And Jesus will return one day to condemn the world. But right now God gives everyone time to repent. 2 Peter 3:9-10 says, "The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up."
It is the same in 2 Thessalonians 1:7b-8
"when the Lord Jesus will be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire, dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus."

This one is fairly overlooked, as well:
Matthew
6:5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. (6:5-6)
6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

I'd Say These GENOCIDAL Ones Are...
The ‘Holy’ Bible advocates the KILLING of 2/3s of ALL HUMANITY – me, just because I accept tons of scientific evidence over zero evidence of any of humanity’s “Gods.”
BIBLICAL DEATH PENALTY: KILL UNBELIEVERS - Chronicles 15:12-13 (NIV) … They entered into a covenant to seek the LORD, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul. All who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, were to be put to death, whether small or great, man or woman.
