just as some people turn away from God due to a traumatic event in their life, some people turn to God due to the same thing. A woman asking or answering a question about children in heaven just may have a reason for asking that is very painful! At least on these types of questions, could we not mock each other and make jokes?

It's an excellent point.

I thought of this yesterday with another question about death. The thought occured to me to be careful because they may have lost someone recently.

Sometimes we may forget there is a real person on the other side of the computer............

Not trying to be a jerk, but everyone is going to forget this question as soon as it moves off the board--I have seen it happen hundreds of times, they all agree when they're answering, but as soon as they move on to another question they do the exact same thing

I'm with you on this. But I predict that you'll get just as many mocking answers to this question as anything else. That's how it goes here, and the best practice is to "consider the source." (If it seems ignorant, ignore it!)

Yes, we never know why a person is asking a question. I agree with your thought.

Jokes and humor have their necessary functionbut, not when someone is confused and vulnerable. Mourn with those who mourn, rejoice with those who rejoice.
