I believe that the REAL saints aren't even recognized by the Roman Catholic Church, so I can't answer your question.

EDIT: In response to claims made here that "only" one Jew was tortured -- Quantrill is correct, history records that MANY Jews were tortured to obtain this information. However, only one Jew directed Helena to the supposed relic as a result of torture:

"A former barbarian who had spent most of her life following Rome's legions, Helena knew how to get what she wanted. She convened a group of Rabbin from various places throughout Palestine and demanded they tell her where the cross was hidden, under threat of torture. These men either could not or would not tell and she ordered them burned alive. After that, they delivered up a man whom they promised could take her to where the "True Cross" lay hidden. This man, named Judas, also refused to cooperate, so the lady who became known as "Saint Helena" sentenced him to death by starvation. After only six days without food, Judas took her to the place where he said the cross which had borne the dying Jesus was hidden - on the site of a pagan temple dedicated to Venus." (quoted from "The True Cross," by Ron Loeffler.)

I'm not denying that the RCC hasn't apologized for certain of its actions. But let's call a spade a spade, shall we? The central question Quantrill has posed is this: IF the RCC is truely repentent for its actions, shouldn't it weed out those "saints" who proved by their actions that they're anything but saintly? It's inconceivable to me that God would act through a person who's defiled by hatred.

I'm starting to rant, so I'll shut up now...

MaxMarie, SFO is right. The Roman Catholic Church HAS apologized for many "errors" including not doing more to stop the Holocaust. The problem is that they usually do it decades or centuries after-the-fact and assume all is forgiven because Jesus forgives them. None of the perpetrators themselves have ever asked forgiveness from the individual they've harmed.

The Pope has asked all Catholics to pray for forgiveness for any Catholic participation in the Holocaust. What good does that do? The perpetrators are mostly dead and are not the ones asking forgiveness. That's the problem with the "turn-the-other-cheek" mentality -- it's worthless. Our God is a God of justice. Can there ever be "justice" for the atrocities Jews have endured under Christian rule? I don't think so. They don't learn from their mistakes. These days they've shifted their priorities to Islam.

The Roman Catholic Church keeps records of all those atrocities locked away in their archives. Catholics don't even read the Bible, you can be sure they'll never get close to those records!

Right now they are working toward making the previous Pope a saint "ahead of schedule" despite his questionable behavior during the Holocaust.

Saints don't have to be "perfect." The only thing required for sainthood is a few miraculous healings. So what if they killed a few Jews along the way. Jews are doomed to eternal torment anyway...

You'll really need to come up with a link to where you get this accusation.

There was only one Jew involved.
