I was reading in the Bible (the Old Testament) that it is wrong to eat pork. Since then I have not eaten any pork products. Many fellow Christians tell me that it is okay because we dont go by the Old Testament. Can someone tell me if it is okay and where it says in the New Testament. Thanks!

The biblical one, God coming to destroy those who aren't his people, restore the earth, etc. Most things point to now being the time, but time is relative, is there a chance you think it can drag out another....30, 50, 100 years? Maybe even more?

This is only for Christians that believe that you will go to hell if you are not a Christian.

I am not a Christian so forgive my ignorance, but if someone were to hypothetically go their entire life without committing a single sin, would they be allowed into heaven even if they weren't a Christian?

It is my understanding that no unclean thing can get into heaven, but if someone was free of sin because they never committed any, would they be allowed in?

Once again, I know this would never happen, I'm just trying to learn what you believe.

Thank you for your answers.

I’m doing a survey on current church of Christ members, especially those who were originally members of a denomination (e.g. Catholic, Baptist, Pentecostal, and etc.). What and who convinced you that you should be added to the Lord’s Church (Matthew 16:18, Acts 2:47) or to become a Christian? Please provide detailed answers. I am hoping that the results from this survey will help develop methods that will improve outreach efforts to bring souls to Christ; especially those who are involved in denominationalism.

It's strange, in America if you tell someone you're a Buddhist, Hindu, Wikkan, or Satanist, they laugh at your naive beliefs, why are these religions shunned while others (Christianity, Judaism, Islam) aren't?

I know from first hand experience how wicked a thing depression can be. Clinical depression can alter your personality and play some very bad tricks on you mind. As "rational" people we can not understand how someone could kill thier own child. Chris however, could not have been rational. I cannot imagine the thoughts that were going on inside his head his last few days on this earth. What he did was unexceptable to us "normal" folks. I speak from experience. 5 years ago, my husband became so depressed that out of fear for the lives of my children and myself, I took our kids and left. 1 month later he hanged himself. The lead detective told me that he had no doubt, if we wouldn't have left, we would ALL be dead. I never felt angry at him because
he was living in a self-imposed hell and to say that he was miserable would be very much an under statement. We can only judge people while they are on this earth, let God judge Chris now. He understands a lot more than we do. RIP Benoits

My son is home from the hospital, finally, he wants his own user account on Yahoo. How do I set another account up onto mine, so I can watch over what he is doing? I've tried asking things like this on the 'approproite' section, I don't get any answers. I'm sure some of you either have or know how to set up a second account, please help.

... everyone treated everyone else in the same manner as they treat those they want to have sex with?

Just think about it... The saying goes, "Treat others in the same manner, as you would have them treat you." Correct?

I mean... don't we all just want to FEEL appreciated?

Divine Flirtation?

Love & Peace!

Boy do I feel energy in this question already... and I haven't even hit submit yet. You must all be feeling the same thing too. Interesting. Feels pretty good huh? ;-)

Throughout human history, thousands of different gods and goddesses have been worshipped. What are the odds that they were all fake except for the one that your parents taught you to believe in?

If each person was born with the free will to accept or not accept your beleive or the truth or whatever you want to call it, then why when an atheist tells you that they do not beleive, you insist on trying to change his mind?...All he is doing is exersizing the same free will that you promote!..what are your thoughts?

Is hanging oneself a final act of guilt?
Think about it. Judas hung himself (supposedly) after betraying Jesus. Chris Benoit hangs himself after killing his family. There are probably more instances of people hanging themselves after realizing they can't live with the guilt of something. Maybe i'm just reading too much into it, but to me, hanging oneself does seem like a final act of guilt. It definitely leaves a longer lasting impression than a gun blast to the head or slitting the wrists.

Is hanging more a final statement than any other form of suicide? Is it more than just the convenience of not having a gun or any other instrument to kill oneself with? I would think it would be the most unpleasant way to die.
