would mean that you could never seek medical attention right?
If you did seek medical attention for anything, is not this tantamount to admitting that you do not trust the evolutionary process when it concerns you?

You say you are not a religion, but you have:

1. A sacred text
2. Ritual (Wedding and Baptism, and death ceramonies, hymns (Lord I Lift Your Name on High" counts!) Communion, etc
3. Religious holidays such as Easter, Christmas, etc.
4. Male, usually full time leaders/authority figures
5. Large #'s of followers
6. Attempts to petition supernatural spirits (in this case Jesus, God, and the Holy Spirit) on your behalf.

Your church fulfills all requirements to be a religion. Don't you see?
This is not an attempt to discredit you, or your spirituality.
I just want to set the record straight. Non-denominational churches are just another sect of Christianity. If you really had no religion, you would worship in private.

The rituals you protest against in other churches are just replaced by new ones of your own.

Meeting every Sunday in itself is a ritual. Prayer is a ritual.

How can you say your church is not a religion? And why is this something followers of your church brag about?

Any mutation of a virus is natural selection, and if a human got ill and died from this infection, how is it logical for any other human to desire to vaccinate against any infection?
The whole premise of evolution lies within the law of natural selaction. Is not interfering with natural selection in effect jeopardizing the entire human race?
What will happen when these people who would have naturally died off, live (by reason of human interference) and pass on their weak genes to their offspring. Meanwhile, science has been doing it's part to produce drug resistant strains of virtually every disease.
Do you not think that things should be allowed to take their natural course?
Or do you proclaim your lack of confidence in evolution by lining up for flu vaccines?

I have recently been reported for "chatting" because I ask questions about ourselves. (My belief system is that we need to understand ourselves before we can understand others, and visa versa.)

If anyone wants to stop me, simply e-mail me and I will stop asking questions for the night.

What do you think of that plan?

This question might have been asked before, so sry if it was. My parents(3 of them) are all very devout Roman-Catholics. I want nothing to do with any God, but my parents get mad if I even talk trash about church. Should I tell them I am an atheist?

As many of you know the anti-witch heyday led into the Black Plague and there has been a lot of discourse that because of this time periods fear of witchcraft that the cats who would have kept the rat population down were destroyed because of their connection to witches as familiars. I don't think we are going to have a return of the Black Plague, but could religious misinformation cause another disaster?

It has been stated that the United States is a Christian country and that the 9/11 incident was a result of America trying to convert the world using Democracy as the goal?

There are a lot of ideas that religion is trying to deny, so what might happen or could happen as a result of this narrowing of scope in this world?

Let's make this a better environment.
How? You may ask...

Well, there's a "thumb up" option for a reason, it really uplifts a person's spirit :)

I've seen questions where the first answer gets 50+ thumbs down, it's ridiculous!

Let's be a bit nicer around these bouts. :0

I can see Muslim women who have never known anything else, but how about the ones who are familiar with the rights and priviliges of modern western women? Do they honestly believe their religion is out for thier best benefit and interest?

I have spent the better part of 20 yrs looking for this answer. our origins as a species to no avail. Evolution was refuted by darwin himself, and their are way to many missing links by sciences standards to say we did come from apes. As for the Creation, c'mon let's get real no man with a white beard and moustache appeared from heaven and created us. That's just plain rubbish. I have a belief in GOD and the MAN known as Jesus and have a great respect for his and the prophets teachings, but God is More of an elightened awareness to me than a being. Jesus just had more openness to God(universe) than most of us. If we don't know who we are or where we came from positively how do we really expect to know where we as a great race are going. I'll keep looking, that's what I promised in my prayers, but if anyone can point me in the right direction please feel free. I am open with no prejudice to any suggestions as long as it doesn't involve hurting me, or someone else, ok. Now... Let it rip

In my family all of the men have commited adultry, father, uncles, brothers cousins.ALL! I was afraid it was a black man thing ( cause I hadn't seen any faithful Black men growing up)so I married outside my race to a christian youth leader. He commited adultry.

p.s. Most of the time they don't know why they did it( including my husband) and none of them wanted a divorce when the truth came out. I have more questions coming.
