I like the way you twist this. You start out with two questions - one about aetheists and the other about hating Islam and a third about being against peace. So what is you real question?

Wheelp...it goes sumpin like this:

I do not know if I qualify as an atheist.

Butt:

I believe that all religions are manmade BULL.

Why?

1) If any god had actually proven their existance then the whole world would be worshipping that god or those gods.

2) If there were any real proof of god/gods then it would be recognized worldwide that this god/ these gods existed.

3) No such proof exists as everyone is claiming that they have the true god...BULL.

4) Everyone is worshipping a god that looks like them or has their home-team values...MORE (obvious transparent) BULL.

5) The only proofs that superior beings exist is existance itself. This is not proof that only your god or only my god exists. It is proof that superior beings exist.

6) Mankind exists to control mankind. he does so through BULL like religion and jobs and bills.

7) Atheist's probably do not hate islam. It is most likely that they simply do not recognize it. They probably hate the jerks who want to push it onto people who have a right to reject it along with all of the other man-made BULL.

8) By the way...I think that Christians are jerks too because they are about the business of pushing their dim beliefs upon society as well.

OH Wheel:

The world seems to be at war...

War on Terrorism?

The terrorists are using war to bring about worldwide peace?

I was born Catholic but, I'm not going to lie to anyone and state that I want catholicism to be spread throughout the world cause it's peaceful. That would be more BULL!

Why hate something that is made up?

When you can hate the jerks who made it up and the jerks who try to spread it around.

How do you feel bout them peaceful Janjaweed folks?

It is not reasonable to ask people to explain ridiculous lies about themselves.

Firstly, there are few groups of people as diverse in their viewpoints as atheists are. There are as many ways to discover that the universe is without deities as there are people to discover it, and you will find that we differ as sharply on most issues as does the general population. Looking over the posts here, though, I do notice one thing we atheists have in common: most of us write well, which is something of an anomaly in Answers!

Probably some atheists do hate Islam, but I don't. Islam simply doesn't matter to me.

Every religion claims to be a religion of peace, and every religion finds reasons to go to war. Islam is different only in what motivates it to take to the sword.

I am an advocate for peace. Peace between nations may not be impossible, but it is certainly not within the limits of my influence to bring it about. Instead, I urge people to free themselves from hatred and anger and to treat the people around them with kindness, and I do my best to live that way myself.

For example: imagine a situation where you ordinarily could not remain calm and refrain from violence; your task for the rest of the day is to find a way to do just that. If you do this every day, the number of things that can move you from the path of calm and kindness continually grows smaller. Can you do that?

While the religions of the world are not useful to me, they are essential for the well-being of their adherents and, as such, are good for the world. I am not against religion, it's just not for me.

You've got some twisted logic, there. We aren't against religion. We're opposed to having other people's religions being forced down our throats. You and everyone else in the world can believe whatever you wish--that's all we're asking for, after all. We bring up the many religious wars and discriminations whenever a religious follower accuses Atheists of being immoral people. It's an argument to our defense--but we are NOT against you having a faith.

A few bad apples aside, I don't think I'm being pretentious by saying that I speak for most of us. Then again, the thumbs-downs I'm about to recieve may say otherwise.

I am an Atheist, don't feel religion itself is the problem at all, it's the extremists that hypocritically have wars and fights for peace that cause problems, but not ALL the problems in the world ofcourse.

So yes, the Islamic religion does promote peace, but mostly the shias are violent, the sunni side (haha sunni side) of Islam is much less violent, and are mostly peaceful. Everyone is violent at times, and nobody should base violence on a religion itself, but the people who are comminting the violence.

Christianity says it's a religion of peace as well. It's most religions we don't care for. Not just Islam. I'm not against religions, It's just some of the fanics that religion calls to.

I do not hate Islam, I have nothing against it. Why do you make such a broad generalization such as this about all atheists? It is very judgmental of you to assume we all feel that way, no atheists that I know of have made such broad judgments against your religion. I do not blame any religion for the worlds problems, I only blame Bush because he is a war monger and is harming the state of affiars for us all.

Assimilate the Jews then assimilate the Christians then assimilate the atheists and kill all who resist. A simplistic battle plan. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. All are my friends. All are my enemies. All I must do is wait in ambush and make the survivors my slaves. I have Jesus to combat the Jews and the atheists. I have the law to combat the Christians and the atheists. I have science to combat the Jews and the Christians. The darkness of the night is illuminated by the Moon.

I don't hate Islam, I simply recognize that it is without a truthful foundation and it effects our world society negatively.

I'm not against peace... that's a completely wrong notion on your part. Actually, I stand in strong support of a wide spread world peace, (though not one based on religious contributions.) In fact, one of the barriers I see to achieving peace just so happens to be religion.... Islam included.

If I had my way, you'd all disband from your organizations, just walk away from them, to become thoughtful, free-thinking individuals and honest, welcomed neighbors.
