If anyone looks up the definition of a cult, scientology fits it to a tee. It fits the objective definition of a cult, which is:

A religion or religious sect generally considered to be extremist or false, with its followers often living in an unconventional manner under the guidance of an authoritarian, charismatic leader.

The point here is generally considered. Those of you who are NOT scientologists and do not think scientology is a cult, what do you base this upon? Also, are you aware of what their actual "beliefs" are, and that they do not disclose these until their members are at the highest ranks.

I don't know of any bona fide religion where only the highest up in the religion get to know what the beliefs actually are. No one can contest that there is a veil of secrecy around scientology, and that their recruitment tactics are suspect (ever see those "free stress test" signs? Those are scientologists).

So give me some examples of why it's not a cult.

I have a friend who's shown me that *gasp!* Satanism isn't about worshiping Satan! If you didn't know that, please don't answer me.

I was raised to explore other religious concepts to make my own choices. The more I learn about Satanism the more it seems to me that appart from a stigmatic name, there's no real evil in it.

Is there anyone else out there who sees it this way? Care to share your viewpoints about this? (Mature answers greatly apreciated)

I usually answer questions directed at non-believers, because I'd like to think of myself as a non-believer in gods. I have many beliefs, but not in gods. So, "non-believer" is already a kinda weird term, but I can live with it.

However, lately I see Christians direct more and more questions at "so called non-believers". I've never met one of those, so I'm very curious about your beliefs.

Can you enlighten me? What does a "so called non-believer" believe in? No gods on weekdays, some gods in the weekend?

Not here! We all say: " buddsay, starovia" which is russian for , "good health" which, btw, is what many other cultures say when a person sneezes, good health, not , god bless. ugh...but have to hear it all the time and childs teachers whom are mostly foreign even say god bless.err....

I am a Christian my boyfriend is a Mormon. Our family members are Buddist. Long story. Dont wanna bore you guys so let me skip to the topic. Why do people say its not a good thing for Mormon and Christian to be together?? It cant be right because he and I have our whole life planned out together. We want us to always be an "US" And we don`t really talk about our religion much. So do you think we can be together? Do you think it can work? Just for a point of reference many claim that there isn't any god and Jesus Christ was a nice man, but that was all. Show here is my question for everyone: Say in these next ten years a leader appears that helps feed the worlds population and finds the cures to all the diseased and sick people through out the world then is elected a new position as ruler of the united nations of earth and all that this person asks of the population as a whole - to prove everyone acknowledges all his fine accomplishments and appreciates everything he has done for the whole earth- is allow his name or number to be put upon your head or right hand. would this not seem very little to ask of anyone and would you mind doing such a simple request?

I had a close relationship with God. I came to him 4 everything. I prayed & sowed a seed of faith 4 a baby b cuz that is what i desired. i bcame preg, & God provided me with abundace of things 4 my daughter. my labor & delivery went fine my pregnancy was great. me & my boyfriend was to get married, things were great. after delivery my baby was taken to childrens hosp for a very minor surgery.2 days later after her surgery the nurse accidently killed her by not rechecking a
proceedure. my baby was born jan 7 05 & live for six days and went with Jesus on the 7 day. I was so hurt. my new supervisor who came to my daughter funeral was trying in every way to get me fired,plus i was transitioning to my new apartment so i was alone in an empty apartment laying on the floor crying out to God to not 4 sake me till i fell asleep .It was so horrible i thank God he brought me a long way.I 4 give the nurse i no my baby is in heaven but now i have depresson that keeps me bound. I want God back. How

By baptized, I mean the biblical meaning.
The Greek word translated "baptize" means to immerse. The style of baptism practiced by Christ and his disciples was full immersion in water.

Imagine this: Satan and his minions have had enough and are taking physical and terrifying forms in a desperate bid to take over our world and enslave humanity regardless of anyone's religion or belief. In response God gave each person a chance to fight this evil.

What would you do and what would you use 2 fight this evil?

I would like to know some web sites about premonitions , my sister an I have the same problem our right arm hurts about a week or two before something bad happens in our family or friends. Just this month my arm starting hurting me so bad i couldnt sleep at night , so i called my sis up an asked if hers had been doing the same she said yes. It had been for the past week ... we got a phone call three days later from our grandma saying our uncle had died in his sleep. This isnt the only time it has happen, I would like to look into this some more if you can help in any way ...thanks a bunch
