I don't think it is a touchy subject--unless the person feels that they are going to be made fun of or misunderstood. Maybe they have been frustrated in this way in the past. Perhaps if they know that you believe something quite different, they feel awkward about possibly entering an argumentative discussion about religion. Some perhaps have not studied their religion sufficiently to give a good comprehensive summary of what they believe. Mormon beliefs are not necessarily complicated, but can be difficult to explain to someone who is coming from a much different perspective. It is also difficult to know where to start. Our beliefs are very wide-ranging, touching on so many points and all parts of life. How do you sum that up when somebody asks--"What do you believe?" And some people just don't like to talk about religion. I think you will find, however, that there are many, many Mormons, probably the majority, that DO like to talk about their beliefs. I, for one, will spend hours trying to explain my religion to anyone who is willing to listen. I am certainly not ashamed to talk about it, because I know that it is true. I am not afraid to get into discussions about it or hear people criticize it. I know what I believe and I know why I believe it. Now I know that I have not really answered your question. There are a good number of great answers here already. If you want further information or have specific questions, by all means feel free to contact me. I would love to tell you absolutely anything you want to know about the Mormon Church. God bless, David L

We believe in Jesus Christ, he is the son of God and he is our savior. Our church was restored by Joseph Smith and we have the Book of Mormon which was translated into modern language by Joseph Smith with the help of the Holly Ghost.
We all have a purpose in life and that's why we are all here in this earth. Before being born, we lived with God, now in life we have to follow God's rules so we can be together with him again. After we die we all go to the world of the spirits where we will wait to be judged and we will have the opportunity to keep learning. We have the Word of Wisdom which consists that you Will not harm your body because your body is your temple and the temple of the Holly Ghost, that is why we don't do drugs, drink coffee, alcohol, don't use tobacco or anything that would harm us. We have two more books which are The Pearl of Great Price and Doctrines and Convents and sure! we read the Bible.
Everything begins with faith in God, if you don't have faith you will never find the true.
For more info. go to www.lds.org and www.mormon.org
***Don't pay attention to those people who said that we are a cult and that we commit poligamy. We are not a cult and whomever commits poligamy will be excomulgated from the church. Sadly, as I can see, people don't like us too much just because the don't understand our beliefs.

The best thing to do is go to www.lds.org You can read all about what a Mormon is & what the faith is all about.
It is the most informative religion when it comes to information on Jesus Christ.
I love being a Mormon & have studied almost every faith in the world. The one I found to be the most helpful in answering questions about life, why I am here, & where I am going have come from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (the real name of the Mormon church).
Read on the website & get information there. If you want more info, you can request missionaries to come teach you about it. They will w/ no pressure to join, they just like to teach others. You can also e-mails me if you have questions about anything.
You have to follow your own heart & learn truth for yourself. Don't listen or believe what others write on here about Mormons. It is terribly sad that people say hateful things about Mormons when often we do nothing to warrant the hatefulness. I live my life being respectful of others beliefs & I wish others would do the say. Religion is deeply personal & you have to find your own way w/out being influenced by other people's bad experiences or opinions. The gospel of Jesus Christ is on the earth. Seek it out & you will find it.

I'm a Mormon and have been for over 39 years. The LDS faith is so vast, it can be a tall order to summarize, but I think this time I'll just give the same answer the prophet Joseph Smith gave to this frequent question.
1 We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.
2 We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam’s transgression.
3 We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.
4 We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.
5 We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.
6 We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.
7 We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.
8 We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.
9 We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.
10 We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.
11 We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.
12 We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.

I was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah , sixth generation LDS. They are a cult.
Read Kingdom of the Cults by Dr. Walter Martin or see the movie Temple of the God Makers.
They are truly brainwashed.
Be sure to ask about Baptism for the dead, polygamy, the rituals they perform in their temple, and don't forget the Dananites or Avenging Angels or the Mountain Meadows Massacre or Blood Atonement.

I am not a Mormon but at least I can give you some hints about the mormonism.
Men have many wives and practice sexual relationship in their church.
All women virgin if beautiful will the tasted by thier false pastor first before othe5rs could do it. Like Smith, the founder of their cult religion who has many wives.
They baptized the dead person. and introduced satanistic attitude.
Now do you want to be a member of their Church. Come grab the oppurtunity to join them
