Faith is the absolute confidence in God's infinite love, his perfect wisdom and in his almighty power.

Faith comes by hearing God speak to us through his word.
Romans 10:17 Hope this helps.

Peace to you Jonathan.

Belief. Jesus said, unless you have a child-like faith, you are lost. You can't let the world interfere. It was easy back then. No TV, a simple life. "Let the little children come to me because of such is the Kingdom of God". That's a paraphrase and he also said, again a paraphrase, "If anyone abuses a child, it would be better if a millstone be hung on his neck and he be thrown in the sea." Simplicity. We don't have it now. Children for the most part don't question, they just believe. If what they are told is the truth and believe it, that is true "faith" and we should take that example as adults.

Faith is a human ability and a spiritual gift which operates from the heart to bring hopes into existence and the unseen into view.

Faith is not the same as belief. Belief is simply any idea or concept that one would consider acting upon. Postulating that their might be a God is a matter of belief and not faith.

essential for life.
If someone walking in this room falls through the floor, I have less faith in the carpenter that built this place.
But, if nothing bad happens, I can have complete faith in the carpenter and I can live life to the fullest in this place.

TRUTH ~> UNDERSTANDING ~> BELIEF ~> FAITH ~> LIVE

In other words, if you Question your belief, what happens? - You get answers.
Hopefully, the answers get you closer to the truth.
If you belief is close to the truth, your faith will be strengthened ... if not, you have the chance to amend your belief so it is something you can have faith in.

Now someone will say, "Great, so that carpenter that you could trust .. was he from Nazareth?"
