I'm not religious at all, but I was wondering if there were any hardcore Christians out there who hate the number 666.

Jesus died for the "his" people and only "his" people, being the Jews. They don't even believe in him.

So if Jesus only died for the Jews, they're the only ones that are saved if they believe in him. Which they don't. Everyone else is SOL and must obey the old testament which is practically impossible. Logically this means everyone is going to hell right?

Matthew 1:21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.

Unlike some other questions geared towards Christians, this question is asked with full respect...

Just a little disagreement I'm having with a friend. She says that Christians wouldn't pray because God has already decided if that person would die or not, so praying is pointless. I admittedly see her point, but I expect to get more yesses than nos. For bonus points, explain your answers!

This presents a fairly poignant view.

Christians, read all of this if you want some good ammunition against Atheists and skeptics! The last half is the best!

How does do beliefs, the vital element of religion, survive in a society where knowledge is power (Foucault)?

Basically I want to see how religion survives in society, and can come up in almost any debate, or conversation. Is this question appropriate?

I wonder what the day to day life is like for a priest. They must be deep thinkers. They have devoted their lives towards religion. Are any of you out there priests, or friends with priests? What is it like, do you always question your beliefs, and search for answers?

I wanted to find the right God, so I just started praying ten years ago for God to reveal himself to me, whoever he was. I wanted the real God - the creator of the universe - the God of love and truth!

Well, I get on my knees every night before bed and sincerely pray for God to show me himself (however he chooses to do it) I've done this for eight years! After I pray, it is my habit to sit for twenty or thirty minutes and just listen and reflect.

I pray first thing in the morning also, while I'm getting ready for work. I got nothing at all really, except for this deep peace that I was a human and that everything was going to be alright.

I felt an increasing connection to all life and to the world. But no specifics about who or what God is - just a feeling that God is all around me. I am not trying to pick a religion, only trying to find the true God.

People are always trying to give me proofs for their religions: Muslims – history, that the name of Allah is miraculously

Let say that God gave your 40 years of grace.

From the day you were born until you're 40 years old, should you die between these years, you'll go to Heaven regardless if you were an atheist, a buddhist, or of any religion. Regardless of everything you've ever done in your life.

So, does this sounds fair?
