1. If God is everywhere, what's the difference between heaven and earth?
-When people say they are going to heaven, they assume they will be next to God. But if they are next to God right now, they are setting themselves up for a big disappointment. I think so anyway.

2. If God is everywhere, is he in hell?
-This opens up a slew of contradictions. Either the Christian god is not omnipresent or he steps foot into the epitome of evil. This is not the only time we'd see god dancing with the devil. (see Job)

3. If God is all loving, would he really allow 3/4 (or more) of his children to suffer eternally?
-Statistically speaking, I'd say about half or less Christians actually practice true Christianity. So the question, based on the argument of "God's grace", is the following. Can a loving God let all of these children suffer eternally?

Any takers?

... read this book and could give their views on it?
ISBN 0-281-04938-6

The subtitle is "Biblical Faith in a Postmodern age" and it displays a review comment : "All thinking Christians should read this book"

(It's not new, but I've just had cause to re-read it)
It has, to my mind, a very good analysis of postmodernism, but does it succeed in reconciling the biblical message with this, as the authors attempt to do?
(I have a feeling I'm not going to get any takers... I have some obscure and odd books on my bookshelves.)

Do you ever think what Jesus thinks about you?

I believe He loves us all. But He will respet the choice what we make with the free will we have.

Tell me your thoughts.

I have been trying to find my way, spiritually. I recently found some information on Goddess worship and thought, "oh wow, I think I found my niche." I tend to gravitate towards the Goddess than the Gods. Now I am not a feminist because I am a housewife but I do find my peace in the Goddesses.

I was just wondering, is there anyone else that follows the Goddesses anymore?

Now, even if God had been the author of the Bible, even if there had been a Jesus, how could the Bible have been written so as to correspond to the human society forever and ever? There are some commandments that clearly cannot apply anymore - especially because all domains of the science have evolved, and society has changed accordingly. But how many commandments could hold for thousands and thousands of years?

At the time they have appeared, the commandments (not just the ten) and descriptions and so on could not have been written differently without stupefying everybody - and perhaps even harm people (think about no moral restrictions on sex life in a world without condoms, or on asserting some shocking scientific fact, 2000 years ago).

So God had to write it the way he has, but then what plan could he have had for the XIX century AD? Let some of his teachings drown in incoherence with the scientific facts?

Meaning that prisoners and people in trouble always seem to conveniently find Jesus in times of need. When released from prison or when times get better, these people forget about Jesus and continue their pre-troubled days lifestyle. Should I not try to figure these things out?

I mean the thing is just chock full of contradictions, lies and just plain stupid mistakes.
You'd think that a perfect creator could see fit to have the mistakes taken out of his own manifesto.
I think the worst one out of the THOUSANDS has to be matthew 7:7
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

How many thousands of parents have begged, in vain of course, to have their children saved from pain, misery and agonizing death because of this outright lie?
Note that the passage makes NO conditions. It's very simple and straightforward; ask, and you get.
And yet the apologists will say I'm "taking it out of context" when of course, I'm not. Since the context is right there in black and white.
But they'll still try. I guess that since their book is filled with lies, it's ok for them to lie too...

If Moses, Jesus, and Mohammad were space aliens, would you still follow their teachings?

Is it the morality of their teachings that you value, or is it really something else?

Pope Rats...whatever...made the argument recently that God could never endorse conversion by the sword. How does he know?

What most people dont understand is, that the vast majority of the Islamic world (Islamic countries) considers this "one" of the legitmate forms of spreading Islam. Essentially, under Islam, all means of achieveing the global dominace of Islam are legitmate. However, Jihad can be facilitated by marrying non-muslims and ending non-muslim bloodlines along with many other ways.

Now, when you think about it, how is their methodolgy any worse than what other religions use. Dont you have to apply your own religious/moral view to make such a judgement? See, its a circular problem. Non-Muslims who didnt grow up in an Islamic culture use the moral code they were programmed with as a template to judge Muslims.

Muslims on the other hand grew-up with their template and see nothing at all wrong with enforcing God's law on everyone, after all, he asked them to...right?

I am struggling in my faith. Why would God do this?

I was told when I was 18 that I would never be able to have children due to ovarian failure. 10 months ago, I found out that I was pregnant! I had a perfect pregnancy ... almost no morning sickness ... no swollen feet ... no complications. I thought that God was answering my prayers.

I'm full-term, just waiting to bring my baby girl into the world. I start experiencing a little pain and bleeding, and I go to the doctor. The next thing I know, my placenta has ruptured and my daughter has drowned in amniotic fluid. She was stillborn.

All everyone tells me is that God has a plan, but I don't want to hear that. I had accepted that I would never be a natural mother ... and then this happened! I'm so angry and sad! I can't understand why the God that loves me would do this to me!

I need prayer, help, and words of encouragment from other believers! What gets you through the hard times?
