Neither. "Devolution" is a word those wonderfully educated and sophisticated folks in Tennessee came up with when they outlawed the teaching of evolution in schools back in 1927.
A "sociopath" (which is an archaic term for someone with an Antisocial Personality Disorder) is someone who lacks the usual mechanisms for guilt, remorse or empathy which normal people have. They are totally self-centered, only capable of seeing and meeting their own needs, regardless of the consequences to others. Whether such a person becomes a criminal or a CEO is usually a matter of upbringing. Poor antisocials end up going to prison; rich antisocials end up like Paris Hilton.
Evolution has nothing to do with it. Disordered personalities have been around forever.

I don't think we've yet established the total causality of sociopathy. Some appear to be socialized into having no conscience and some seem to be unable to empathize from birth. There's no doubt that empathy (from which conscience originates) is a positive trait for survival while sociopathy and other degrees of extreme anti-social behavior are not, in that they tend to provoke group exile and sanction. So I would class it as aberrant and maladaptive, and so not evolution, but perhaps not devolution either so much as a simple defect.

It does not. no where does evolution fit with the pathetic excuse for a theory of creation. Evolution has evidence, Creation has a book, written by man, with nothing to back it but millions of readers. However if you are to assume the bible is true simply because so many people read it, then you also have to assume that Harry Potter and Halo are also real because so many people read them. The Adam and Eve thing makes no sense, the bible has been disproved a million ways. sorry, but who ever told you that evolution was wrong because it didn't fit with the bible, is delusional.

Neither. They are an abberration caused by trauma or lack of nurturing in their childhood. They will not acheive sucess in this society and therefore will not be able to survive in the "tribe". Evolution, as we can see from the fossil record had many dead ends. Evolution doesn't claim to be perfect!

That's a loaded question....kind of like, "Are you still beating your wife?"
Sociopaths are affected by the sins of their parents and their own sins. They are Satan's pride and joy.
