Excellent question and good point. As a pagan, I'd hate it if any of you left. I like the banter.. while it does get a bit over the top from both sides at times, I think it's good to question one another and learn from what's being said.

I just want YA to start an atheist category so you guys will quit coming here just to insult us. It's boring, its annoying, and its a pain to sift thru page after page of questions trying to find legitimate ones. We would be fantastic if all the atheists left, we could actually find some real questions and not have to deal with all the stupid troll nonsense. We could exist just fine without you, not a doubt in my mind. You don't have religion, and you don't believe you have spirits, so the only reason for you to be here is to troll and insult. Get a life already, there must be something in your empty lives that you care about besides insulting us and trolling. This isn't the only category, don't you have any real interests?

I don't think we CAN exist without each other. Got to admit, I find our arguments not only to be very entertaining, but intellectually stimulating.
If the atheists moved, I would follow. I like most of their questions.

If Christians all moved to the Mythology & Folklore section, they would be making one small step in the right direction.
Some atheists may move while others would stay (since there are other religions to defend against).

DO NOT move to that category and take it over. No one there would ever get an answer to the questions and only get preached at. This is the religion section, so keep it here.
And by the gods... Atheism is about religion.. that means it belongs in the religion category whether you like it or not. Get over it already.

I think the atheists would get bored and move over to keep arguing with us. The Wicca, Pagans, and others aren't nearly as vocal (or numerous).

Mythologies are just religions that have lost their believers and without believers who actually believe the nonsense, it becomes difficult to work up a good rant.

I think you are leaving out those of other religions as well. What about the Wiccans, Muslims, Buddhists? Don't they have a say in religion too?
