If someday human cloning becomes reality, and science can create identical people with identical MINDS, than what does that say about the "human soul." what would the theological implications be if we could create an identical person with an identical mind? Would you argue that they had differernt and seperate souls?

I've always known that Muslims and Jews don't eat pork. But recently I was surprised to see that the Bible bans it as well:

"And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcass."
deuteronomy/14-8

So why is it that Christians still chomp on bacon and eggs for breakfast?

We think we are special because we have the capacity to think, reason, and realize that we are people. This is the Christian explanation of the mind- a soul. Unfortunately, many primate species and dolphins are also self-aware (IE with "theory of mind", self-recognition etc). So either we go to heaven with dolphins or we don't go anywhere. Which sounds more logical to you?

Calling all Fundies and others who accuse Catholics of "worshipping" statues: I'm Catholic with plenty of Assembly of God relatives. They tell me I'm wrong to have statues of Jesus and Mary. Wanna guess what they put in their little mangers near their Christmas tree every year? Yup....statues!!!!! Of Jesus and Mary, of course! When I ask them about the very obvious discrepancy (and I love to ask) -- they are totally speechless and at a loss as to how to answer! Hypocritical?

Not only that, the chapel at the agts (Assembly of God Theological Seminary) has stained glass windows depicting their human founders: William Seymour (the chapel is named after him -- not God) and "Mother" Flowers!

Can any AoG people enlighten me about your use of statues? And honoring your human founders? No Catholic saint (many of whom have churches named after them) NEVER invented their own church like Seymour, Charles Parham & "Mother" Flowers...

Examples of pseudepigraphic apocalyptics include, the Apocalypse of Peter, the Vision of Mary, the Apocalypse of Timothy, Apocalypse of Adam, Enoch Bk 1, Trimorphic Protennoia, The Book of the Unknown, etc.

Can these be considered revealed literature or gospel. Was the Council of Nice qualified to includc/exclude them? What constitutes canonical authority? Did the compilers of Nice ever check into the provenence of the texts?

The story of a divine child being born of a virgin mother on December 25th, performing healings and resurrections, having 12 disciples (the signs of the zodiac), and having a last supper with flattened bread (which had crosses on them by the way to symbolize the sun) was all done a few thousand years before Jesus. Yes, Jesus is a rip-off of the Persian god of "light and truth" (those symbols Sound familiar?). Mithra makes Jesus look like a cheesy rerun. Look up Mithra yourself if you don't believe me.

All the great faiths point to a sin of some sort.

Why does it happen ?

That's right, as Jesus commanded "love your enemies". Well if Satan isn't your enemy, you have bigger problems than loving him.

If he thinks, he cannot be all-knowing.

But what I truly don't understand is all this talk about "God's Plan"...

How can an omniscient, omnipotent God need plans? Plans are a limitation of power.
We make plans because we are not all-knowing nor all-powerful. In order for God to have a plan, or design, is to make him as humanistic as you or I. Limited.

Is God limited? Or he doesn't have a plan?

Ok so I'm going to be interviewing a few pastors on what they think about the seperation between church and state and if they're for or against it. Do you know any other questions I should ask them?

Vatican I and II saw great changes and dialogue for the Church.

Will there be a third Vatican Council? Has there ever been serious talk of it happening in the near future? Would you like to see it happen?

When do you think it might happen, and what would be the biggest issues it would deal with?

Many families practice their religion/spirituality in the home. In the LDS, for example, each Monday evening is devoted to family activities centered on prayer and contemplation. In this sense, a 'normal' family could seem to be supportive or each other, sharing in each other's spiritual growth, etc. For those of us who grew up in hells called :family' what are some qualities of a normal healthy family?
