I've always known that Muslims and Jews don't eat pork. But recently I was surprised to see that the Bible bans it as well:

"And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcass."
deuteronomy/14-8

So why is it that Christians still chomp on bacon and eggs for breakfast?

Later in the Bible (in the New Testament) Paul was given a vision that meant that Christians could eat what they wanted. They didn't have to keep kosher.

Well yes you are right there, the Muslims and Jews both get that from the Old Testament Laws.

The reason that born-again Christians eat that, plus all the other forbidden foods from the Old Testiment is based on Peter's Revelation: Acts 10 9-15

9About noon the following day as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the roof to pray. 10He became hungry and wanted something to eat, and while the meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance. 11He saw heaven opened and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners. 12It contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles of the earth and birds of the air. 13Then a voice told him, "Get up, Peter. Kill and eat."
14"Surely not, Lord!" Peter replied. "I have never eaten anything impure or unclean."

15The voice spoke to him a second time, "Do not call anything impure that God has made clean."

So...that's why we are chompin!( as you put it)...lol

You are correct they can't but many still do because they follow Paul's interpretation that if they believe in Christ they are no longer under the Law.

This is of course not true at all. Christ said that he didn't come to break the the law but to fulfill. He kept the Law.

He also brought a deeper understanding that of course if e.g. on a Sabbath someone needs help you should absolutely help altho it is a Day for rest and study of Holy Scriptures and meditation etc.

The Law is not a rigid Law but Christ showed he followed the Law. If the Mission is greater then it is ok. Otherwise the Day is for your spiritual progress and that is important too. To remember the Lord God and His Commandments, Revelations, etc Keep His Holy Days Holy, only break if absolutely necessary, if it is good. Be Wise as God IS.

Jesus eliminated the food diets of what to or not to eat.

Mark 7:18,19 So He said to them, "Are you thus without understanding also? Do you not perceive that whatever enters a man from outside cannot defile him,
"because it does not enter his heart but his stomach, and is eliminated, thus purifying all foods?"

Colossians 2:16 So don't let anyone condemn you for what you eat or drink, or for not celebrating certain holy days or new-moon ceremonies or Sabbaths. NLT

Yes the Bible has also talked about banning pork. Christians should try to follow a more strict rule in abstenence of pork. Pork has harmful effects both morally and medically.

This was written in the Old Testament which was actually written to the Jews and contained their laws. But because of Jesus there are new rules and guidlines for Christians.

In the New Testament The Lord showed Peter in a dream that all He has made is good for eating.... But if it offends a brother don't eat it.

Jesus makes it clear according to the Gospel of Matthew that his followers MUST follow the Law of the Old Testament.

However, Paul comes along and claims to receive a 'revelation' from Jesus saying that people do not have to follow the Law.

Paul is simply an anti-christ!

I'm Christian and I can't eat beef. There are many bad things about pork that are really unhealthy for humans.
