I get the biggest kick out of Christians trying to explain away the POSSIBILITY of their claims being true. They already have their pretty conclusion before they even examine the world. Very quant.

i'll be right back with you..need to pee so bad..ok i'm back.

what bible are you reading?

1.)Then God said, "Let the waters teem with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the open expanse of the heavens." (Genesis 1:20)

2.) 18Then the LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone; (S)I will make him a helper [a]suitable for him."

19(T)Out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the sky, and (U)brought them to the man to see what he would call them; and whatever the man called a living creature, that was its name. (Genesis 2:18-19)

3.)4God saw that the light was (I)good; and God (J)separated the light from the darkness.

5(K)God called the light day, and the darkness He called night And (L)there was evening and there was morning, one day.
(Genesis 1:4-5)

(Genesis 1:16-19)
16God made the two great lights, the (X)greater light to govern the day, and the lesser light to govern the night; He made (Y)the stars also.

17(Z)God placed them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth,

18and to (AA)govern the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness; and God saw that it was good.

19There was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.

I can go on, and take all what you said it will only prove your wrong.

1&2)it says let the water teemm with living creatures AND let the birds fly in the sky. there is two different thouhts in one sentence. are you lookin in a NKJ version? that isnt translated well.
3) why canat light exist without a source. God is Almihty and can do things that man cannot. If your trying to discredit the Bible you should look for contradictions instead of somthing that is unusal and sayin it cant happen because we'll jussst say what i already said.
4) i heard this really interesting theory a while ago about how the earth was surrounded by a ball of ice or something but i didnt et to hear it all. it made a lot of sense. also during the flood i think thats were all the water came from. but then it rained down and is now gone. bbut its just a theory.
5) why would there need to be a sun? there was alrready light. besides there was a sun the next day. plants can usally go without any light for ONE day and still live. plus they were the first plants ever created and so were probably very stron.
6) That doesnt make any sense.
7) Very good so they were.

Ok, imagine you are a nomadic shepherd who, although educated, has no concept of biology and physics as we do today, not any concept of the number 'billion.' Now imagine you have gone to the top of a mountain and God shows you what the big bang looked like from your perspective standing where earth would be.

1) We are given dinosaurs which eventually become birds
2) Genesis 2:18-19 is about Adam's first 'days' on earth
3) There was a lot of dust in the atmosphere as the earth coalesced. Light would have been visible but the source of light would not until the dust cleared
4) Land masses appear and we now have atmospheric water vapor as well as liquid water
5) Plants were receiving light and could still use photosynthesis. There are many plants (mushrooms etc) that require little to no light in addition
6/7) My translation does not show this contradiction. Which translation are you using?

So no, not errors at all. Try again :)

EDIT:
Right, atheists never try to twist facts to fit their preconceived notion of the world *rolls eyes*

1.Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky 1:20

2. Now the Lord God had formed out of the ground all the beasts and all the birds of the air

= I do not see what is the problem.

3. The sun may have existed from the first day, but only appeared or become visible ( as the mist cleared ) on the fourth day.

The word light in 1:16 can either designate the sun which emits light, or the moon, which reflects light.

4. You need to remember that God is the eyewitness to His creation, so I believe Him. This is His record of creation which God specifically reported to Moses by way of special revelation.

In Biblical usage the term firmament means " heavens". Literally it means "something stretched out, like hammered metal". 8 divided waters is the notion of upper and lower waters and it is somewhat mysterious. The language may simply refer to waters gathered liquid state and to moisture ate the atmosphere.

5.So? The broad words grass, tree, and fruit tree encompass all plants, shrubs, and trees. The reference to seed and kind speaks of the fact that the plant kingdom will continue to reproduce.

6-7.Adam and Eve were created the sixth day.

Takers? I believe in God's word. He keeps His promises. Man's word comes to nothing.

Ok, Birds were not created out of water look below and I will comment afterwards.

20 And God said, "Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky." 21 So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living and moving thing with which the water teems, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

God said Let ... AND... not and out of the water (which is a evo thought) Besides why would it matter where he plucked them ground, water, or air. He made them.

Now, let us look at the second creation if you will. Yep, he says he made them out of the ground. Perhaps he threw the fish in to the water as he made them, but since they are not mentioned and I already gave my above thoughts I will move on.

18 The LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him."

19 Now the LORD God had formed out of the ground all the beasts of the field and all the birds of the air.

Light and Darkness. This is a tough one especially for those that think light must come from a source. I picture black and white and God will organize it at a later time. quaint I know, but thats the best I can do. Just confusing literal, fine allegorical, and for the person looking to get rid of all the implications of this book "a loop hole" to use on the day of judgment.

Next, The water I have heard was another layer of Earth's atmosphere that he "popped" at the flood. This has even been supported by science I believe, but I cannot remember as it was some time ago. The other water we call oceans. No walls are mentioned that I saw (was this KJV you were reading?)

Next, so God created the plants first. Big deal. If he can create them out of nothing I think he can keep them alive. His rules ya know. But, there was this light and dark remember? Plus, let us say you are right and God grimaces and realizes he got too excited and mixed up the order he then fixes it in verse 14-16. Besides no one was around to laugh at him or poke fun at him and he did fix it after all it would be rude not to mention ungrateful of us to bring it up. Hope the humor is not lost on you.

I think I get what you are saying on the last two and it does look like a contradiction, unless you look at it as He created them and by the sixth day he decided he would like them to be something more than he originally intended. I have heard some say that it was at this time that he decided to give them a soul and have the capacity of thought as He does. Perhaps while he was creating he came by and had a chat with Adam. No Lilith was mentioned in the Bible and I am not sure where this idiocy started.

I doubt you will be satisfied, but this is the best I can do. Never really worried about it and I still have faith in the accuracy of the Holy Word.

# 3 the light did come before the stars.

may not be something you can understand. God made a light first! Then the other Lights of Heaven after.

When the Sun goes down, What light do we have? Twlight. The earth gives off a GLOW, ITS OWN LIGHT! You can see it in the Heavens...

# 4

The word water, could mean something else.

Don't clouds hold water? Is the Clouds then water? Could be referring to something Cloud like, holding water. If its gone, then the Great Flood did occur, explains that well.

#5
Yes, plants did come before the Sun, God made it! Why not?

#6
Genesis 1, animals were made before man.

Genesis 2, man was made first, then animals, then the woman.

It seems to be talking about two different events.

#7
Regular man, was created the 6th day

Adam was set in the Garden of Eden. Regular man was not.

If this is not true, What was Cain afraid of? Who was gonna kill him?

Again, I could be wrong.

Its hard to say for sure, but the Bible is True. I am but human, how can I understand Gods great Knowledge?

GEN.1:20It didn;t say they came out of the water, HE said AND fowl that;s all it take's is for HIM to say and it's done. Gen.2:18-19GOD formed these for Adam in the garden they were tame.Gen. 2:5there was not a man to till the ground in order for Adam to till the ground he would need help.3This first light is the spirit of GOD.WE are children of light. The dark is satan, yes his evil spirit is here also .WE are not walking in the dark,we SEE.The water's above are dew, rain,&below is the sea's HE told them where to stay and they do.They appeared it didn't say they grew yet or needed sun or rain.ADAM was formed on the 8th day.Gen1;27The 6th day GOD created man, male and female created he them at the same time, created not formed ,Adam was created And put in a special garden planted by GOD, because through ADAM would JESUS come. SO you have the 6th day creation and the 8th day "THE MAN ADAM formed. GOD BLESS YOU

I am encouraged that you find so much fault in Genesis, by pulling all 7 of the "greatest biblical errors" from that book. Can I assume you believe that Jesus was born from the virgin Mary, crucified, and resurrected 3 days later to save us from our sins then? That did not appear in your list, so I'm assuming you believe it is true.

What's really funny is that the majority of contradictions in the Bible can be explained by purely scientific methods (textual criticism). However, the most faithful of Christians would rather believe that God's wisdom exists outside the boundary of human understanding and that we must accept the Bible as perfect and without error even though it does not appear to be so.

Which is just plain silly, because God doesn't exist.

In actuality, the Bible is a composite document. The traditions of the Northern kingdom of Israel were combined with the traditions of the Southern kingdom of Judea. That explains why there are two contradictory creation stories. Two different authors. (Then there is the Priestly Code, the Holiness Code, Deuteronomy, and dozens of minor documents...)

It explains who there are three versions of the 10 commandments. It explains why some of the stories about the partirarchs are repeated over and over, each time with only minor changes in the details. It explains why in Samuel, "God" moved David to censor the people, but in Chronicles this same story is attributed to "Satan".

Surprisingly, there are a lot of liberal Christians and Theologians who accept this truth (and even though God doesn't really exist) they are able to juggle the reality of who actually wrote the Bible with their belief in God. But more surprisingly are those who close their eyes to logic and insist that Moses wrote the first five books of the Bible himself, including the part about his death.

It's silly that these fundamentalist Christians can't see how absurd their rationalizations are. It's like when you tell a lie, and then have to tell another lie, and another, and another, until your wrapped up in such a web of lies that nothing makes sense anymore.

I see you are searching for errors in an ancient book written almost 3000 years ago.
Now try searching for the historical truths in the Old Testament; and while you're at it, do a search on the errors of your modern constitution; you may just find very many more errors.
