A friend of mine's husband had eye surgery last week, & turned out to be a huge massive tumor with no hope for him. Nothing to do but pray & is gods hands now the doctor said. It had spread & blead thru boths sides. The doctor called lastnite jumping up & down at 2am, there's no sign of cancer, they checked and they rechecked, & is going down in medical history as a miracle, the doctors can't explain it & said it just could't be possible. I'd say its pretty apparent that god was around.

He is apparent through His signs in everything, from the smallest atom to the largest galaxy since the beginning of time. The problem is your own perception.

With regards to what He revealed to humanity, He also revealed the Qur'an . I suggest that you read the translation in english.

ok, well if you want to trust in a infinite God then this is one of the most important things! Because how can a God that makes himself apparent (explicity...rather thatn through signs) ever be seen as an infinite being. He would have to restrict himself to time and space ...both of which are his creations

What is it that these dear fools trust their god to do anyway? I don't even trust my dry cleaner!

Faith is self-delusion. Nothing more. There is no one who can prove that god has a hand in anything that happens to us. It's all personal opinion. I can offer alternate explanations for ANYTHING a devout person assigns to god or the supernatural, and no one can prove my explanation is any less credible, because I can simply claim, "well I have faith in _________!" (fill in the blank with whatever power you choose.) To say my belief system is foolish is an incrimination of the exact same belief system a godly person uses.

Faith requires hypocrisy, insanity, or self-delusion. Choose your poison.

Actually He is apparent to His followers...Ask the people who've lived in Cali, Columbia, Kiambu, Kenya, Hemet, California and Amolongo, Guatemala. United prayer changed these cities around. Something only God could do.

The Bible doesn't have contradictions, but you need to study it to know what it's talking about and to whom it's talking to. You need to know something about the culture and the audience it was written for it. If you really want to understand it, ask God and He will help you understand and not weeks from now, right now, today even.

When you discover the inspiration for the stories... when you discover the life lessons, and how it makes your life and the wordl a better place...
you believe in the Truth.
Not the legend, not the myth,
but the reason that these stories HAVE resonated for 2,000 years.
Good luck in finding the reasons.
I don't believe in magic, either, but I do belive that there is such a thing as good in the world.

Over 2,000 years?

God's Word is living

The Holy Spirit is ever living

Jesus lives

Jesus is present in His Eucharist -- for Catholics and Orthodox Christians.

I had never read the bible until after He made Himself apparent to me. I think if you asked anyone who has had a miracle that they would tend to disagree.

there are no errors or contradictions in The Holy Bible
God has made Himself very apparent to me

those who have ears to hear, let them hear
and those who have eyes to see, let them see

I trust Him with my very life

faith.

of course it looks to you and me like a bad collection of fairy tales, but the whole idea of religious belief is that you don't have to have any proof -- you just have faith.

the real question, to me, is why some people have no problem having faith while others (myself and I would guess you as well) can't imagine believing in something that seems so absurd.
