Thomas synthesized 1500 years of thought in a coherent system. He used the science of his time, which had mistakes in it, but had nothing else to work with. To dismiss him is the same as saying Beethoven was a zero because dude, uh, yeah.

Hero - but even he said to his scribe after completing the Summa Theologica, all 66 volumes - that it was all rubbish - after he saw the Beatific Vision.
As for St. Thomas being a "Jesuit" - ummm - Thomas died in 1274. The Jesuits were founded in 1534. You see a problem here?

I don't know enough about his writings to tell, except for his fallacious attempt to prove the existence of god. On the basis of those alone, a zero.

Maybe in 1250 his 'proofs' were clever, but he's been seriously reamed since then (in a philosophical sense, of course).
For the rest, I don't really know. It's on the 'to look into' list.

Zero. He was a humanist Jesuit who helped to throw a monkey wrench into Christian doctrine, leading many people astray.

He had some good ideas, but I am decidedly against his views on women and sex.
