that agrees with your opinion. I mean if you already know the answer on where you stand on a particular topic, why lose the points and ask the question?

IF we just " happened " then we have no purpose and are just bits of random matter in the universe. If you believe that, then do you believe you yourself are insignificant?

open your mind and have some independent thought--there is NO evidence that there is a God...NONE....the emotionally frail hide their heads in the sand...refuse to gain knowledge or deliberately misinterpret sound data...true science provides evidence to discount alternative hypotheses and in this way lends support to the strongest, most logical explanation...technically speaking a hypothesis is not supported--alternative hypotheses are weakened...it requires evidence, reproducible data, subject to peer review...commonly we think of an idea being supported and there is no support that God exists (other than wishful thinking--and that is not science!!)....gravity is "just" a theory but no one seems to doubt that it exists....evolution would be a fact....but science is more humble than that...open minded....but humble...faith types are often weak in math too...they will say that just because I have never seen a flying pink unicorn doesn't mean they are nonexistent....sheeesh.....

Hello darlings,

I've been an invisible watcher of this forum for quite a while now (meaning I don't post anything but I read the questions+ answers), and I must say that as a Christian, we are really are a bit hypocritic.

The careless grammar, the unsophisticated language, the threats of hell...it really is disappointing. I would have expected better from those who claim to love God.

Even if you don't agree with what they say, we should listen. I think many of the atheists of this forum are very interesting and raise some good points. And remember....

We share the same biology, regardless of ideology.

Love and best wishes,

Marie Louise from Bordeaux (itty bitty village from France) :)

Most "Christians” I know like to pick-and-choose what they follow from the Bible. Most will say the Old Testament stuff doesn’t apply, etc...

And I feel that these people already know, on a deep level, the absurdity of many things the Bible tells them to do. I can't remember the last time I heard about people getting put to death for working on the sabbath day(Exodus 35:2) or a woman's hand getting cut off for grabbing a guy's nuts in an argument (Deut. 25:11).

So if God commanded these acts be done and hasn't told anyone to STOP doing them, then why aren't they still in practice? The Bible is the word of God and God knows what's best. Who is man to determine which things God "didn't mean" for us to do?

If you're going to follow the word of the Bible, you should follow ALL of it. If you say certain parts do not apply then you admit the Bible is wrong at times, and if you admit that you have to ask yourself:
What else could it be wrong about?
Gays?
Hell?
Dogma?
Even..God's existance?

I spoke to her once, and you know why she's insulting Islam and trolling? Because other religion are being bashed and not Islam.

How the Hell does that justify anything?

Oh and she's a Christian.

So what do you think of this troll?

What if the armies of the Lord, picked up and dusted off their swords? Vowed to set the captive free, and not let Satan have one more. What if the church for heaven's sake, finally stepped up to the plate? Took a stand a stand for God's promise and stormed hell's rusty gates. What would happen if we prayed for those raised up to lead the way. Then maybe kids in school could pray, and unborn children see light of day. What if the light that we pursue came from a hunger for the truth, what if the family turned to Jesus, stopped asking Oprah what to do?
Do you think we would be living in a better place?

I'm referring to Ted Haggard and Oliver O'Grady, of course.

Moving from one parish to another in Northern California during the 1970s, Father Oliver O'Grady quickly won each congregation's trust and respect. Unbeknownst to them, O'Grady was a dangerously active pedophile that Church hierarchy, aware of his predilection, had harbored for over 30 years, allowing him to abuse countless children.

So yea, which do you think is worse/ deserves more punishment?

the debate topic is:
"The Bible is full of contradictions, God says one thing and then turns around and says the direct opposite." (i know this is wrong)
The verses given are Ex. 20:13 and Deut. 7:1-2

I have to prove this wrong in front of the class tomorrow

Any good topics or debate ideas would be wonderfully and greatly appreciated!!!

Please only answer this if you know the topic or you are a Christian....this is a serious subject that I do not take lightly...so if your just answering to mock God or prove the Bible wrong Please wait for another time. Thanks

Since people who say they don't believe in God also say they think logically and demand evidence of everything why not produce proof that God does not exist? What is your foundation of truth on the subject matter?
