Judge not, lest ye be judged!
As for who is a Christian only in the claim, not in the action...God has set a day for judgment. He will separate the sheep from the goats (Those who claim to be from those who are). We know that Satan has his people even in the churches, for the wheat and the tares come up together...Gode is the one to separate the one from the other. At some point, we are all hypocrites in one form or another. Most of my life I didn't believe in God, but when I found Him (allowed myself to be found by Him), I found all that I was looking for in life, where befor I always came up empty...i.e. love, joy, peace, etc.
When I was first baptized I found that I could not live up to the name I claimed as my own...but God did not cast me out. I came to realize that I had no power in myself to live up to the name I professed. When I came to that realization, I was a broken man, not wanting to live the lie anymore. I gave my life to God and He changed me into another man right then...even hypocrites and atheists can be saved!!!
God is long suffering and loves us each more than we love each other or ourselves. I just got up from my evening prayers in which I asked God for forgiveness...I had been asking Him to hurry Jesus return...He impressed on me by His Holy Spirit that He has many, many, many more people to lovingly ask into His Kingdom. We must allow Him to pick and chose...Our job is to live the new life He has blessed us with as if we were His children...Each of us are given so many chances, so many reprieves. Satan is the accuser of the brethren. Let us be the children of light.
We read the Word of God and find that The Word of God reads us, so we see who we really are!!!
Know your heart!!! God bless you as you seek God with all your heart!

God must have been ashamed of Jesus, since He preached on Hell twice as much as Heaven.
I will be straightforward, my wife loves to evangelize. I like to teach. The one thing my wife doesn't handle is I will teach what the Word says, regardless of the severity of the message. In simple words, if it offends, so be it. It is needed.
If many Christians would live a sanctified life onto God, the world would not have a field day condemning our beliefs. If we chose to walk with God like Enoch, the world would have no say in our life. It would speak for itself. If we chose to carry the lamp of God like Peter, people would be healed, sinful lifestyles would be exposed JUST BY HIS PRESENCE. How would people respond?
People miss this point, the Bible says that Jesus didn't come for the righteous, but sinners TO REPENTANCE. How do people repent if they don't know what sin is? Believe me, I have been and seen that the church has twisted the true meaning of sin where holiness is powerless.
Jesus never enticed sinners by the rewards of heaven. It was the relationship that can be provided on earth that is the strength of Christianity. Sin spearates us from God. God commanded all men everywhere to repent. If there is no repentance, there is no true forgiveness. Without acknowledgement of sin, how can we truly confess to God that we rebelled against Him?
Truth must be preached.

Hi, Marie Louise
First, I should say that I envy you for living in such a picturesque and beautiful place. I share your thoughts and observations in a different way.
I think your observations are correct but unfortunately they reflect the deep nature of the religious mind : negative, regressive energy.
The real positive forces in our nature, such us
self confidence, optimism, pleasure of love, independence of thoughts, free expression of our identity, etc, are all restrained by religion.
Instead, religion controls us through negative form of energy, such as fear and repression of thoughts and desires.(i.e.threats of hell).
It has an anti-scientific bias, even though science is our only hope to overcome the environment we live in.
It is probably a reflection of ancient social and political realities. That is very complex.
What you describe is the true expression of the religious mind : out of touch with the real positive
powers we possess.
Enjoy the real positive energy of Bordeaux!

You bring up some good point but remember Christians aren't above non-Christians meaning we are humans as well and make mistakes. Some of the things that non-believers post make some of us upset and want to retaliate. No it isn't right nor is it Christ like but it does show that we are human and get agitated by people slandering the blaspheming the name of God. Which is why we appreciate the fact that God also looks at our hearts and He knows our intentions even when we fall short.

You are a very wise woman. I dont agree totally. I believe some of these non-believers on here want for us to change their beliefs, but I am never rude or pushy, nor do I ever make threats.

No in no way Scooter, i assume you met this expensive somebody right here, and what befell on your connection became right into a becoming, and speaking previous right here. I could desire to have self assurance there became into some mutual leisure, yet "slowly" is the technique and that i doubt you would be much less seen in the doing.

I haven't seen Christians threaten anyone. If you were a real Christian then you would know that Christians who tell people about hell do it to save them out of love not to be mean. And to criticize people for their grammar isn't very Christian of you either.

Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.

I have yet to see an interesting pov from any avowed atheist posting here... they are sworn, by there own words, enemies of any who profess the Christian Faith. I see no point in being polite with the vast majority of them and I do not even bother posting replies to most... the best position to take against them is to ignore them... any reply just encourages them to continue their hate filled diatribes.
