There are so much to question about the structure of the Roman Catholic church. I agreed there must be a POPE overseeing the whole spiritual operation of the church. But WHY ARE BISHOPS GIVEN SO MUCH OF POWER over his people in each country??POWER IS SURE TO CORRUPT--- simply show that ABUSIVE OF POWER IS POSSIBLE when one is in such a high position. WHO CHECKS ON THE BISHOPS who might go astray?? The position of BISHOPS in the Roman Catholic church is LIKE EQUIVALENT TO A LEVEL OF A KING OF A COUNTRY!!!! He has so much power that he can get anything done--even the many wrongs that he might had committed. Being human--one makes mistakes and this applied to Bishops too!! Who to check on him in his role as Bishop?? Will he admit his mistakes to his congregation OR COVER IT ALL UP !!! After all,he is the most powerful man in the church-- will he used the power given to him and ABUSED it ????

I have question that has always bothered me. It's silly really. But it has been a road block for my faith. I'm not "educated" in the matters of religion, so forgive me if I sound ignorant. I feel a tug, if you will, towards God lately. But, I'm stumbling on some issues. Maybe you can give me some insight. I respect the catholic religion, in respect that their tradition/faith/religion is unified and (for the most part) unchanged. It's However, I cannot get over the worshiping of saints and the virgin Mary... as that seems like worshiping a false idol? And, the fact most of their docturines are handed down by men, and not by God. Are they to be interp as God's word. Or, just a insight to God's word?
At the same time, I have a hard time swallowing the Protestant faith because it seems too diversified. Almost as if, new branches are formed to please a new group of people. It feels like the faith is being bended to please the people... shouldn't people bend themselves to God and his will? I don't mean to sound disrespectful. I've tried to ask this question before, and it has offended. I'm am honestly looking for something to show me the truth. Thank you for your time.

Before we start, I'd like to state that I am serious, and I'd like serious answers.

I get confused when people say "No evidence=no belief." Does this mean that these people only believe in things that they themselves have experienced? How can these people go on evidence that other people have experienced, but so easily brush off the thought of a higher being? Sure the idea of a higher being may not be common sense or logically proven, but what is the difference between believing in things I've learned in Chemistry (things I have learned, but have not actually experimented on myself) and things in the Qua'ran or Bible? There were many people that believed in the 'Plum pudding model' of an atom for a long time until it was disproved, so whats to say everything isn't the same, unless you find out yourself?

Today, James Cameron(a "movie director")announced that a documentary was being made regarding a finding of 10 coffins that were discovered in 1988 and the script read of the names of Jesus, Mary, Joseph and other family members and their remains. What Cameron also failed to announce is the fact that several other grave sites also had quite a few tombstones that had the name of someone named Jesus as well. It appears that Jesus was a popular name as well a fairly common name now particularly in Spanish culture. It appears that Cameron wants to dispute one of the basic tenet of Christianity that Jesus first of all was not buried where he was purported to be and that He did not rise from the grave. From what I gathered, he wants people to "entertain"--he is a movie guy after all--the notion that Christianity is based on a false premise. What do you think of this nonsense and does this affect what you believe or is this just another "scam" of sorts?

Have any of you born again Christian women been convicted to wear very modest dresses and a head covering for worship? I have and I wear a dress and covering like the Mennonites do for worship and any other Christian Bible studies. I just wondered if any other born again women do this too? Also, born again Christian men, do you prefer women to wear dresses instead of jeans? It does say in the Bible that women are not to wear clothing meant for men. I was out shopping the other day and for the first time I noticed just how really terrible pants and jeans looked on women. I felt bad wearing jeans instead of a modest dress. They say that women wore dresses for almost 6000 years and the last 25-40 years they started to wear pants and jeans. What do all of you other born again Christians think of this?

I am a convert to Islam and all the women i have met who are also converts to Islam are all pretty , slim , intelligent, and i have also noticed the people who dont understand Islam are insecure, have issues, not attractive, i dont mean to be too harsh but there is a pattern here, it shows and proves that people hate because they have issues of their own, they are insecure and that effects theri life and thinking of others, the good looking people are always open minded, civilised, im not saying im the prettiest girl but i love Islam, Islam gives so much rights to women and respect that you just have to respect Islam and be glad you chose Islam as you faith, im by the way American and British, and ive seen many conveted people to Islam who are all sweet, good looking, open minded, its just a shame those ppl who are against Islam have issues over their looks, they like to sleep around and lose theri dignity and self respect, quite funny and sad really, awwwwww bless them people (lol).

Since the Christians seem to keep losing Jesus, we non-believers should put together a list of places we've seen him, just so they can look more effectively, and maybe not lose him so much.

1. At the bottom of the bottle.
2. Behind the couch.
3. Under the on-ramp.
4. The local synagouge.
5. The Ladies Room.
6. Traffic.

Where have you seen him We need to help the Christians do this, right?

Okay. We got Luke, Mark, Matthew, and John... they wrote their part in the Bible.

But what about Genesis, Ruth, Isaiah, Jonah, Esther, Job, Psalms,
and Numbers? Were they people?

Did Ruth, Jonah, Esther, and Isaiah wrote the Bible?

Okay... so who wrote the Psalms, if that isn't a person's name?

What is Ecclesiastes? And what is Lamentations?

What is a Corinthans, who wrote that?

Who wrote the Revelation?
