Before you laugh me away, I am an atheist and I do think he is brilliant. But I'm reading 'the God delusion' (who says christianity doesn't inspire?) and it is like the guy is one of the regulars here.

Let me read you some of the section headers:

- Pascal's Wager
- The Ultimate Boing 747
- Irreducible Complexity
- The Poverty of Agnosticism
- Does our moral sense have a Darwinian origin?
- What about Hitler and Stalin?
- Faith and Homosexuality
- Fundamentalism and the subversion of science

Does that sound like an average R&S day to you? It does to me.

He and I really like eachother a lot and I think there may be a future for us. He is not currently a practicing Wiccan, but he still believes the way they do. I need to know how to tell him that this really bothers me. We can never be really serious unless one of us is willing to convert. There is absolutley no way I would ever become Wiccan. I don't want to make him angry, but at the same time I want to let him know what the bible says about other gods. Please, I only want Christians to answer. I do not want to be ridiculed by anyone who is Wiccan. If you are rude, I will report you! Thanks!!

We as atheists have been asked my someone who is a theist, a muslim, to submit to his god.

Unfortunately, as an atheist, i don't have a book written by an illiterate peasant from 1400 years ago to reference to, and i don't bring any fire and brimestone to the table.

So I guess the question to you would be moot wouldn't it?

How do you feel about other religious people trying to convert you, specifically, when they try to persuade you to change your belief by suggesting that if you don't change your belief that there will be a penalty to pay, a punishment of torture?

How does that make you feel? Even thou you are a theist, I imagine there must be some reaction to this attempt to convert?

Did God really mean for so many to DIE ? other than Jews? for Israel? I don't believe as I used to. All I am witnessing are 'excuses" for Israel to destroy others. For that matter, EVERY race, ethnicity has a right to SURVIVE, don't they? I refuse to "worship" people from Israel anymore than I will worship other groups. There's something wrong with the interpretation of the Bible regarding Israel. I'm convinced of it.
I also believe there are parts of the Bible that are missing. I've always felt that way. 95 percent of the world are people of color...Surely God had a plan for them, a GOOD, EQUAL PLAN NOT just limited to Israel..

On the Unitarian-Universalist forum at http://www.beliefnet.com, all sorts of people claim to be Catholic, Baha'i and into Native-American spirituality. One person wants to convert back to Judaism. Another is an atheist. What does any of this have to do with a full commitment to the Unitarian religion? Surely, you are one or the other.
