Question: I think people are scared to die because it is "unknown" territory. We don't have people telling us, I just got back from death and it was great. So we don't know what to expect. We also know, when we die it is final. So if it's a bad idea, we don't have the opportunity to redo the event. We also lose control over the choice to die. Death is "out of our hands" and in the hands of our Creator. A child thrown into the swimming pool into the loving and safe arms of a parent, none the less, may be fearful until the child learns "I am safe". So in this case we have relationship issues. The one that comes to mind, what is our relationship with God?
I personally feel that death is a part of life and an appointment we shall all keep. I look forward to meeting my Savior face to face.

People are afraid to die for different reasons. People are historically scared of the unknown. Some aren't afraid but don't want to die because they have attachments to the earth or don't want to leave loved ones behind. Some look forward to death because they think they know everything. Personally, I think those people are delusional.

I think that varies for everyone, depending on your beliefs, your up bringing, etc. I'm not afraid of death, it defeats us all so we might as well accept it. I am, however, a little unnerved by the act of dying. Will it hurt? Will I know what's happening? Will I be afraid? Will I feel as if I'm suffocating?
I see those questions here in various forms occasionally, so I think we all fear death and dying simply because it is a mystery to us, the great unknown. No one has ever come back to tell us exactly what we experience (I don't believe in near death experiences). Until we get real answers, that sense of uncertainty will always make us a bit uncomfortable and frightened.

That the spirit soul is not allowed or cannot longer live in the body.
The living entity's fear of death is due to his false ego of identifying with the body. Everyone is afraid of death.
At the present moment one can say he is not afraid, but if there is a fire ( like in tower 7/11) everybody will be scare and screaming.

When you die your body goes back it to the ground along with your soul and spirit and its as if you are in a deep sleep it isn't something to be afraid of. you will have the hope of a Resurrection to a life in Paradise on earth if you remember in the bible Jesus Chris says to the man on the torture stake beside him he said you will be with me in Paradise.(Luke 23:43)many people are afraid because think the may go to hell but you don't have to worry about hell or anything because Jehovah god doesn't like for people to suffer or be tormented.

I am not scared to die because I know that when I die I will go to be with the Lord. One reason why people are afraid to die is because they don't know hwere they are going. I also think that they are afraid because they like this life and don't know what will happen when they die.

It is the only thing you have to do after you are born. There is no choice about it.
If there was no survival instinct your ancestors might not have lived long enough to pass on your genes. You could say it is an artifact of evolution.

Neat question.
I think it has something to do with an instinctual mandate for life. Regardless of size or complexity, life *always* seeks its own survival.
So, I think fear of death is more likely rooted in the drive for preservation of life.

Death is end to this worldly life and beginning of intermediate period till the day of Judgment. On the day of judgment every one of us will be questioned about our deeds (good or bad) in this world. We hope that God (swt) will have mercy on us and forgive our mistakes and misdeeds.

Genes that make their host organisms afraid to die will naturally tend to proliferate in any population. It's simple evolution.
