Yes I do. He really believed that he was speaking with Samuel. Saul was afraid because " Samuel" was able to identify him even though he was disguised. Saul consulted with a medium, an offence punishable by death in those days.

Steve N......he is talking about Saul, the first king of Israel, not Saul of Tarsus who became the Apostle Paul.

King Saul sought out a seer to give him access to Samuel after he died. The seer pretended to call up Samuel and was shocked when Samuel actually appeared and spoke to King Saul.

King Saul did not bow down to Samuel in the sense of it's commonly understood. He was struck with fear and was "bowed" in THAT sense.
