As an ex christian, I can confirm that ive heard many other cases like mine, where a child was raised christian, and they had fear, guilt shame, they were picked on at school and didnt have the self esteem they needed to fight back, the ones raised christian had a lot more social and emotional problems than the ones without it, I know this by research and experience.

In many places in the Holy Quran, Allah addresses himself as WE did this We did that. Like in surah Al Qadar the very first ayah is...verily WE have sent the quran in the night of Al Qadr. Why does Allah use WE. What does it mean? Though Allah is the supreme authority. There is no God but Allah. Please explain the concept of WE in quran.

I have no objection to a woman being a pastor, in theory, but when I see a woman dressed as a priest or bishop (especially in the Episcopal Church USA), it really rubs me wrong...as though there is something deep inside me that is repulsed, not because I object intellectually but because there is something fundamentally wrong with a woman being a priest or bishop. My question is, on the basis of scripture and tradition: do you think I am wrong or are the liberal churches wrong?

On another topic a christian wrote

"Its living a life of faith in Jesus Christ that one can prove beyond a shadow of doubt that God does indeed exist.

Faith is the SUBSTANCE of things hoped for, the EVIDENCE of things not yet seen. "

To me he is saying that he ' hopes ' god exists even though he has seen no evidence as yet. And therefore god does indeed exist.

is this a firm foundation on which to base a religious philosophy and a way of life?

What would be the purpose in letting in those who accept "Jesus" and letting the rest burn? I don't see how an omniscient being could be so petty.

I asked a question once about how scientists could hope to create life in a laboratory, and received a bunch of answers saying not yet, but soon...
OK, this is more to the point on science.
How will science save you from death? Not temporarily, but save you from death, period?

Is it because of less faith in the Bible or the parents do not properly fulfill the religious obligations, I heard a pastor on T.V that some Christians come to Church twice in there lifetime one when they are born and on when they die. In my opinion the abolition of the joint family system by the Christians has led to shying away from religion and maybe inclining towards Atheism

please, if you are interested in answering this question and have gotten this far, look back upon my previous questions about christianity..

and the only reason i single out christianity, above other religions, is because it is the most predominant, and loudest, in the country in which i live in...

is it not all about the individual?? (and i believe that this is human nature, so i do not mean for it to be interpreted in an offensive fashion).. but is not the belief centered upon the INDIVIDUAL getting to heaven, and the INDIVIDUAL doing what is right for them upon this terra firma to get to heaven?... even when one is doing good things for humanity, can't one see it as doing it simply because god told them to?? i know there is no true altruism, so no need to get into that argument

i love the responses that i get from questions like this, and i truly appreciate it.. i do not know exactly what i believe, but i have a profound respect for those that do

Many times whenever I feel like retaliating, I manage to remind myself how the Lord himself die on the cross for us, without bearing grudge or defend himself, instead like a lamb, he just keep quiet and plea to his father on behalf of his enemies.

Isn't this an important aspect for us Christians and Catholics to practice our faith, esp. in Yahoo answers where many non christians are watching our behaviours?

Agree?

Peace to all.

Above I posted 50 archealogical finds that CONFIRM events and people in the the Bible.

Ok doesn't PROVE it is true, I will give you that. But it is evidence non the less. All theories are based on evidence. In my opinion Creationism has just as much confirming evidence as Evolution. In my opinion the Bible is just as provable as not.

These finds are never highly publicized or main stream.

So Christians my question is to you . . . . don't you agree we should continue to be a light and be careful not to get rapped up in the proving our God exists? HE DOES. The confirmations and examples are all around us. Lets just be the shining light. Its not our job to prove anything, its our job to be a witness, a good one, not a bitter one.

To you that don't believe . . . . . . . God bless you and at least most of you I have exchanged thoughts with are trying to live life to the best they can . . without God.

Is all religion "bad" because it teaches false beliefs? even if it breeds charity?

Is it only harmful when it interferes or violates the rights of others?

How come they can always find some loophole in the bible that totally contradicts what it says is right or wrong?
For instance, they say all men are created and should be treated as equals. Yet, in the very first section it basically calls women thee devil. I guess women aren't considered equals per the bible?
That is just one of thousands of examples.
