Is it because of less faith in the Bible or the parents do not properly fulfill the religious obligations, I heard a pastor on T.V that some Christians come to Church twice in there lifetime one when they are born and on when they die. In my opinion the abolition of the joint family system by the Christians has led to shying away from religion and maybe inclining towards Atheism

You are overgeneralizing. Christianity has not abandoned family values. Divorce is a sad symptom of our society that occurs in all walks of life.

Not true. I do not follow religion, I am follower of Jesus, and I attend the church every week.

I agree that many Christians are shying away from the personal relationship with God. I would consider a lot of them more Agnostics rather than Atheists. Many Christians believe in Gd they just do not have a personal relationship with God, and they have doubts because they do not feel Him. Many Christians do not go that far that they deny God, they believe at least to some kind of higher power.

They are not really Christians if they do not follow Jesus. Are you a car if you are in the garage?

I am Catholic and was raised with strong family values and am raising my son with strong values as well. So don't count me in your survey poll. Muslims, seems to me, have fear. Jews have the longest family traditions and try hard to stay away from the secular world. The problem with family values is that the secular world is bigger and stronger now. The media throws this crap in our faces all the time and our children can get their hands on it at any time, anywhere. Our USA govt allows freedom of speech and the press to go the distance and this has allowed porn everywhere, foul language everywhere, TV shows with sexual content and violence, even the 30-minute sitcoms are no longer simple funny, moral family shows. They all have sex crap and innuendos and such on them. This is where our children get it. And mothers work outside the homes much more now so they are no longer home to care for the children and protect them like 30 years ago.

Our govt is full of Christians and the separation of church and state has let crap in all over the place. I do strongly believe morals and lessons all start at home. But if both parents work and kids are free to come and go and they please and have non-supervised access to TV, movies and internet, our children tune into immoral crap and thus they lose to the temptations. I don't agree with a govt have total control of our lives but the American freedom has allowed too much freedom, thus allowing immoral values to reign.

I think once a children or teen get the freedom of immorals, it's hard to get them back to the rules of God. They rebel and run away and such. Usually they will learn their lessons and turn back to God but that's not until they are much, much older and have children of their own. Sadly, I have no answer to bringing back family values and stabilizing it today. The secular world have control of us now. I can only raise my son and pray for all others.

It's not so much the religion that does that but the culture. When a group of people immigrate to America for instance, they will cram as many people as possible into a tiny house in order to save living expenses. The money that is saved is used to educate everyone in the household. Even when someone moves out of the house, everyone continues to pool money until the next generation graduates. Hispanics do that and they are predominantly catholic.

at the beginning, are you married to that companion? Or are you only roomies 'with advantages' residing under the roof of his father and mom? father and mom are often keen to help out on a short term foundation, letting an grownup offspring circulate in, with or devoid of companion and grandchildren, till they might get on their feet financially. long term, that's somewhat dicier - you all prefer privateness, there are resentments if the folk by no ability bothered to get married and only have intercourse and share expenses and contact one yet another 'boyfriend and female buddy...' father and mom have already seen their youngsters by extreme college years while those have been the labels and youngsters have been broke and only beginning out entering into adulthood.

i agree with abdul.

perhaps you live in an area that is predominently christian? (for instance, america) since it is very easy to obtain a legal divorce here, maybe you are seeing more christians take advantage of this. then your question becomes one of perception.

as far as atheism is concerned, you can actually be an atheist and still be jewish. not so with christianity, so i don't understand your connection there.

First your statement is incorrect and not balanced with truth, many thousands of people who call themselves Christians aren't followers of Yeshua (Jesus). Not every one who crys Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven but those who do the will of The Father. Though when we sin ,we have an advocate with the Father Jesus Christ the righteous. And we are not saved by works of righteousness but by The precious blood of Yeshua The anointed one.But many professing Christians are learning how to over come their flesh on a daily basis by The Word of His power, living in faith and by faith. not loving their lives unto death, etc. Others simply have no desire to ever serve Him except by lip service only.Hopefully they will come to light of the knowledge of Jesus Christ. but my family and many others are close knit and serving Him every day, in most every way.My family is strong as a family in Yeshua (Jesus, the messiah) Muslims,Mormons, Hindu, etc. walk in the darkness of their own made up works and man made knowledge. Even many Jews refuse Messiah who fulled every feast of The Lord, and every prophecy of the old covenant (A mere human impossibility) Hundreds of perfect fulfillments. Yeshua was the first fruit, ever raised to over come the power of satan in the earth and re-opened The way of fellowship with Father God, The perfect lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world. In him is the life and everlasting salvation by grace through faith. A free gift of untainted blood, delivering all who know Him and He knows, by His own choice. So I'm not sure where you got your information but it's worth re-thinking and study, and seeking full truth and understanding which only comes by way of The Holy Spirit (Ruach Ha Kodesh)

I was unaware that muslim and jewish families used joints. There's something new to learn every day...

You think the jewish families are *less* atheistic than christians? Wow. You naive.

You think that there aren't millions of questioning and disaffected muslims? You really need to get out more...

Parts of the church have become quite liberal. Its sad. But take heart for if you truly love Jesus you are in the Family of God.
