Right now I am dealing with my husband in jail, and if he doesn't get parole he will be there for 7 years. I love my husband so much and miss him dearly. I just feel like I am losing it now because he is not here and the thought of him being gone for that amount of time isn't helping either. I just need ways to be able to cope with this and maintain until he gets out. I can't even visit him due to being the co-defendant in the situation that he got us into. I have forgave him and want to give him all the support that he needs to pull out of this. What all can I do to keep going physically and mentally? Thanks

why is there so much hate nowdays? from what i've read the atheists, in stead of minding their own business are picking on believers. on the other hand, i notice these fanatic people trying to convert atheists to faiths that may not be correct. i'm a believer, or so i consider myself but i'm not trying to force anyone to my beliefs. i may give advice if asked. why pick on someone who doesn't agree with you? i've read atheists pows and although i don't agree at all i respect their beliefs. i'va also seen atheists blaming believers of being narrow minded. now how can they know? we are forcing people to faith when kindness and selfsacrifice is what does mirracles. am i wrong?

There seems to be a big stir over the movie "Jesus Camp". Name a movie that Jesus would like to see made.

I'm not trying to generalize, because I know that everyone is different, but are pagans typically open-minded enough to date someone who doesn't share their beliefs? I know that most members of "traditional" religions (christianity, islam, judaism) try to seek out a partner who shares their spiritual ideas. Is there anything in the practice of paganism which would be disturbed by having a relationship with an atheist?

I have a crush on a pagan :) Who knows I'm atheist. But I don't want to insult this person or their beliefs by pursuing them.

He created the angels and they revolted (becoming evil) and he did nothing. God creates humans and they supposedly become evil (Genesis 6:5-7) and destroys all living creatures on the planet (except Noah and his fantasy ark story). Such a contradiction for God, or is he just that weak?

I have had heard the bible and quran compared, allah called god, and Americans blaming Americans for the intellectual poverty of muslim nations, but can anyone tell me why we are giving social and moral equivalences to justify muslims who actually kill others to satiate their imaginery concept of deity called allah? How can islam be anything but a death cult, offering blood sacrifices to appease another fallacious supernatural model?

My mom has brought me up Catholic, but in middle school I decided I just didn't agree with the beliefs of Christianity. I hate going to her church, and I really disagree with their views, yet everytime I ask to skip she starts screaming at me and says she will kick me out and take away all my priveledges(like not letting me see my boyfriend) if I don't go with her. She trashes me behind my back to her friends, tells me I am going to hell, and calls me a "pagan", when I actually have no specific religion. Its insulting to me to have to go to her church and I don't know what to do, and she doesn't let me go to any other churches. What am I supposed to do?Can she really kick me out for not going?

You don't believe in the theory because you don't think that something could come out of nothing, but yet you believe in a God that supposedly came out of nowhere and wasn't created by anything?
For example: A man (who believes in the big bang theory) talks of why he believes in it and brings up evidence to support the theory that the universe was created when it exploded from one single "point". A Christian then asks, "What created that 'point'?". The man replies, "Nothing. It just was." Then Christian replies, "Well, I don't believe it because something had to have created it." The man replies, "Then what created your God?" The Christians says, "Nothing. God just was."

Do you think Christians can rightly dismiss and criticize the Big Bang Theory when it is so very similar to the "creation" in the bible?

"Man can do what he wills but he cannot will what he wills."

Schopenhauer

" I do not believe in freedom of will. Schopenhauer's words, "Man can indeed do what he wants, but he cannot want what he wants", accompany me in all life situations and console me in my dealings with people, even those that are really painful to me. This recognition of the unfreedom of the will protects me from taking myself and my fellow men too seriously as acting and judging individuals and losing good humour. "

Who are YOU?
The face, body you are looking at?
OR is it your mind?
soul?
Did you ever tried to look long enough into the mirror and felt that the person you looking at is somehow a stranger?? Like it is not really YOU in the mirror?! That something else other than the physical body represents you and that we 'use' the body to 'fit' this 3dimentional world?!?!

To believe in god, despite evidence whatsoever.
or
Not to believe in god, despite plenty of misrecognized "evidence".

Along similar lines - what motivates your religious beliefs - it is not sheer wickedness as some on these boards think, is it?

This increase came through billions of hours of prosyletising endeavours yet very little increase in members resulted. Nobody could have a problem with that if Jehovah's Witnesses were but one of many denominations preaching the true gospel, because their contribution to the sum total of baptisms world-wide would be equally as vailid and worthwhile as everyone else's. But as they claim to be the ONLY religion blessed by God today, do they worry that God is holding back his blessing for some reason or other? Would they consider praying, fasting and repenting before God to seek forgiveness and new direction?

Christians know that those workers are going to have to be put to death. It is not personal, but God commands that it be done (Exodus 35:2). Does that also include anyone who made food for themselves, because that can be work? That would include the preachers, since this is their job and they do it on the sabbath. And yes to the people who will point out that the Jewish sabbath is on Saturday, but the Christian on is on Sunday. Does that mean both days are off limits?
