Why do the avatars sometimes not appear? My sexy Eye of Mordor avatar is gone. And don't lie, you all know that Sauron's eye is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

To those who answered my last question;
if you said that you would give your knowledge away for free...is this what is meant by the "Vow of poverty"? What if you got rich in spite of your vow?

Religion or no religion. Why is life important? Why does what you do in life actual do? Lets say your religions and you go to heaven... then what? On the other hand you just become worm food. Your existance is nothing again, why was what you are doing in life really all that great?

The (insert religious adherents here) respond in droves to questions designed to get them to do so. It's like a pavlovian response.

They all answer with the same kind of statements, too, about their (insert deity here). For instance, somebody will ask "Why is it that (insert deity here) is not considered ultimately responsible for evil?

Crowds of (insert religious aherents here) make a cacophony of unintelligable "logic statement" or quotes from (insert "revealed" text here). It is distrubing, yet amusing. Eerie and funny ...

Earlier another user posted the usual question about religion, death, and heaven. I saw this user allowed IM, and was also online, so I decided to IM her and answer in person.

Anyway, after explaining the origin of religion, etc etc - it turns out that this user is a 10 year old girl (who posts on the internet unsupervised!!!) and I basically told her that her nana died, when she previously thought she just moved far away (heaven).

She burst into tears, calling me a liar and saying god would punish me.

I really couldn't do much except apologize a few times, say she shouldn't listen to me and shouldn't even think about this until she's older, and certainly not use sites that let her talk to grownups who don't even know she's a kid. She was still very upset - her last question was how to block me. I think my answer worked.

So - given that I don't have a god to forgive me, is there anything I can do? Should I have done things differently? Should I, next time?

Am I a horrible person?

In the September 6, 2000 edition of The Onion A.V. Club titled "Is There A God?", celebrities were asked the question. Jolie was among those asked.

The Onion: Is there a God?

Angelina Jolie: Hmm... For some people. I hope so, for them. For the people who believe in it, I hope so. There doesn't need to be a God for me.

Frost: Do you believe in the Sermon on the Mount?

Gates: I don't. I'm not somebody who goes to church on a regular basis. The specific elements of Christianity are not something I'm a huge believer in.

I have been told soooooooo many different things. I don't and won't believe that it is a sin to be gay until I see it for myself in a bible with my on eyes. Even if it is a sin. That is the most stupidest sin ever. How can God make it a sin to be gay when you don't even get to choice whether you are gay or not? For everyone who says that being gay is a choice just think about it for a second. To choose something there has to be at least 2 or more things to choose from or it wouldn't be a choice. So with that being said, If being gay is a choice then everyone one of us starts out bisexual ( being attracted to men and women for those who might no know) until they "choose" what sexual orientation they want to be. Oh, but when a heterosexual hears someone say something like that they instantly say (man)"I don't like guys, I like p*ssy" (women) " I never liked a woman, I love men". So why is it a choice of sexual orientation when it comes to gays but not heterosexuals? Yes I am gay myself.

We all agree that first there was the Catholic church (right), and spinttered from there. Do you think we could all oneday agree and compromise to create one Christian Church, no sects, representing Christianity?
