I have been told soooooooo many different things. I don't and won't believe that it is a sin to be gay until I see it for myself in a bible with my on eyes. Even if it is a sin. That is the most stupidest sin ever. How can God make it a sin to be gay when you don't even get to choice whether you are gay or not? For everyone who says that being gay is a choice just think about it for a second. To choose something there has to be at least 2 or more things to choose from or it wouldn't be a choice. So with that being said, If being gay is a choice then everyone one of us starts out bisexual ( being attracted to men and women for those who might no know) until they "choose" what sexual orientation they want to be. Oh, but when a heterosexual hears someone say something like that they instantly say (man)"I don't like guys, I like p*ssy" (women) " I never liked a woman, I love men". So why is it a choice of sexual orientation when it comes to gays but not heterosexuals? Yes I am gay myself.

That is your decision.
If you believe it's wrong, that's fine.
If you believe it's right, then it's right.
You make the decision.

It's a sin if you believe the Bible. If you don't believe the Bible then you can do whatever you want within society's laws.

1) Sin by definition is breaking the law.

1John 3:4
Everyone who commits sin also breaks the law; sin is the breaking of law.

2) There is a law against men having sex with each other.

Leviticus 20:13
If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.

3) The law is still valid.

Matthew 5:17-18
"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.

All good questions.

Since every gay person I've ever spoken to has stated that they have no more choice about being gay than a heterosexual has about being heterosexual, I'm inclined to believe that they are in fact born that way. (I also have a suspicion that gays who claim to be "cured" by evangelical Christian intervention were probably bisexual to begin with, but that's another story.) And if that is the case, and you believe in a God that made us all, then yes, the question arises: why would that God damn someone to Hell for something they can't help, any more than a person with diabetes can help having diabetes or a person with MS can help having MS? (Not that being gay is a disease -- I'm just making the comparison among physical conditions that have nothing to do with the conscious will of the individual.)

There is at least one religion that does not consider being gay a "sin", and in fact welcomes and celebrates their unions and has whole denominations devoted to LGBT members. Links are below. Also the Unitarian Universalist and many Anglican churches are very accepting of LGBT people.

Best of luck to you on your path.

It depends on what you mean by "being homosexual". If you mean having a homosexual attraction or homosexual love, no, that itself is not a sin. To me, the wrong is homosexual _sex_. Sex and love are not the same thing, and to equate the two is totally off. And regardless of whether or not you believe sexual orientation is a choice, sex acts _are_ choices and thus carry full moral responsibility.

Practicing homosexual lifestyles including homosexual acts is sinful. It is the same as someone liking to eat too much and so they are a glutton. That is sinful too. It is disordered. I think that sexual sin is rampant in this day and age weather it is heterosexuall or homosexual or bi-sexual it is all just plain lust for lust's sake. The union between a man and a woman in the boundary of marriage is a beautiful thing and the evil one's M.O. has always been mockery of Holy things and he has chosen this one to mock before almost all others because it is within the bounds of marriage between Christ and his Church that Salvation takes place.

You've made your mind up. Instead of asking, go study it yourself. The answer is in the very first book and goes all the way into the new testament. The entire scripture gives the answer.
By the way, all sin is a choice.

'Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable. -Leviticus 18:22

Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. -1 Corinthians 6:10

26Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. 27In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion. -Romans 1:26

Just because you have an attraction to something (banana splits, green cars, the same sex) does not mean you were born that way or that it will ever change. Irregardless of whether you think we were born that way, if God has said to stay away from something and you care not to go to hell, you stay away from it. God created a specific order in nature and he doesnt like when people pervert it, esepcially after hes told us many times not to.

The sin is the practicing of homosexuality not being homosexual.
The scriptures tell us it is an abomination to God, this is His Word, it is nialistic, does not produce life, as God intended.

Suggest you go straight to a Jewish friend and ask him to explain to you the Leviticus verse about Homosexuality. You may be surprised, the original Hebrew text did not condemn homosexuality except for married men.

When the Bible was translated into English in 1611, the religious empires corrupted the leviticus verse.

Some Bubba Preachers think the Bible was originally written in English.

The Bible says adultery is sin. Adultery is defined as sex outside of marriage. The Bible defines marriage as a union between one man and one women. How difficult is that to figure out?

Any sex outside of marriage including fantasizing about it is sin according to what Jesus said when He walked the earth in Palestine. That is recorded in the Gospels.

Orientation itself is not a sin. Acting or lusting about sex outside of a holy union between you and your spouse of the opposite gender is a sin as stated in many places in the Bible. This type of lust can be with the same gender or with the opposite gender or with an animal. All of it is wrong. Any of it will ultimately kill you unless you repent and sincerely ask God to forgive you and then with His power resist tempation in the future. Jesus said to the prostitute to "Go and sin no more." That instruction applies to all of us, as we are all sinners. Homosexual or straight all of us with a sex drive is tempted daily to lust. When we do, we all are sinning. That is the human condition and yes we all have a choice and can with God's help resist the tempation of lust. Homosexual or straight this issue is the same for both groups.
